The mailing cost for each home is estimated to be $3.00 per year. All donations can be sent to: Council on Aging 200 S. Spring St. P.O. Box 166 Bucyrus, OH 44820 Dress Warm Cancellation of Congregate Meals During inclement weather In Bucyrus, when Bucyrus City Schools cancel, the congregate meal site located at the Crawford County Council on Aging is also canceled. In Galion, when Galion City Schools cancel, the congregate meal site located at the Galion Golden Age Center is also canceled. We still deliver to our clients in their homes when the congregate sites are closed. Only when the weather is extremely severe do we cancel the home delivered meals. Stay informed regarding closings by listening to the radio or go online to the following: listening to Q92.7 WQEL http://wqel.com/closings/ http://crawfordcountynow.com/closings/ Cold temperatures can lead to frostbite and hypothermia a condition where the body temperature dips too low. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), more than half of hypothermia-related deaths were of people over the age of 65. So, don t let indoor temperatures go too low and dress in layers. Going outside? Wear warm socks, a heavy coat, a warm hat, gloves and scarf. In very cold temperatures, cover all exposed skin. Use a scarf to cover your mouth and protect your lungs. Your body temperature should never dip below 95 degrees if it does get medical assistance immediately. Note* Fall and Winter Please keep in mind the conditions of your driveways and entry areas to help speed delivery of meals and transportation. 2 Crawford County Council on Aging
