DECEMBER 2018 As many of you know, the club s fiscal year ended on 10/31/18. As our shareholders already know, 2018 was a very successful year at MGCC, and I cannot thank the entire membership enough for their continued support. Thanks to all our shareholders who attended our annual meeting on 11/27. The meeting was very positive and filled with great questions and comments. Several questions were asked about our off-season reduction in dining hours. This was a topic I considered very carefully before seeking board approval. I want the club to be as successful as it can be, and tailoring our dining schedule seasonally was something which warranted discussion. As you know, upon approval new dining hours went into effect on Nov 1 and are included within this newsletter and on the club s website for your review. I am happy to report that in the month of November, despite the reduction in hours, the club s food / beverage revenue and associated costs saw significant improvement over November 17. A small snapshot I realize but certainly a trend I hope continues! At the annual meeting our new Board of Directors was announced. Thanks so much to our outgoing board members for their past service and support of MGCC. Catherine Bovard has left the board but will still assist our social committee in the planning / coordination of the club s calendar. Brent Holmes has left the board but will still assist our golf committee. The club welcomes Samantha Eggleston & Phil Holdren to the board, joining present members John Covington, Derek Meinhart, Gary Patrem, Lori Heller and Bob Jones. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Our Member Christmas Party will take place on Wednesday, December 19. We will offer complimentary appetizers at several stations throughout the dining room. Our evening will kick off at 6P. We encourage everyone s attendance as we ll make some special announcements and have a gift bag for each member. The club will re-open after our Christmas break on Wednesday, January 23. We will be hosting Opening Weekend beginning Thursday, January 24-January 26 with events to include: The first King of Clubs of 2019. A Pool Party at the Suite Dreams Hotel Couples Alternate-Shot Sip & Chip Putting Extravaganza at the Suite Dreams Hotel Complimentary Ladies Golf Clinic Complimentary Junior Golf Clinic Live Music at the Club A full schedule with dates and event times will be made available in the January newsletter, email & Facebook It s going to be a great 2019 at MGCC! You, the membership, is THE BEST marketing team we have. I hope you ll assist in promoting the club; ensuring that our membership continues to grow while positioning MGCC as the ONLY place to have a membership or host events in our area. Canopy Dining MGCC acknowledges that many of our members are on the go and not able to visit the club for dine-in service. For this reason, the club will launch Canopy Dining. This program will undergo a soft launch beginning Friday, November 9, with a Canopy Dining specific menu to follow by December 1, distributed to membership. Canopy Dining will be available during our regularly scheduled dining hours as listed within this newsletter. Please note: During our extremely busy holiday party season, we ask that Canopy orders be placed before 4P to avoid any delay in preparation or excessive wait time. Call in your order: (217) 234-8831, drive to our front door and waitstaff will bring your order to you. Member Charges Only Please Country Club Bucks As an incentive to membership for dine-in service, we will offer Country Club Bucks effective January 24. Country Club Bucks may be accumulated through REGULAR dining service taking place after 4P on Wednesdays and Fridays. Dine in house Wednesdays & Fridays during dinner service, from the dining room menu, and receive 20% of your food bill in FUTURE Country Club Bucks. (beverages not included).country Club Bucks can be used towards future in house dining visits to the lounge, deck, patio or dining room and may also be used for Canopy Service.
