Box 427 November/December 2007 USPS No. 005-221 NUMBER 2 NEW YEARS EVE DINNER For your dining pleasure we are going to have a Sea Food Buffet for New Years Eve on December 31, 2007. The menu for the buffet will be Fried Cod, Fried Perch, Catfish Fillets, Baked Cod, Shrimp, Fries, Potato Pancakes, Baked Potato, Puddings, Tossed Salad, and Soup. We are also looking at some other kinds of seafood. This will be an all you can eat buffet. Your coffee, milk, tea and bread are also included. This meal is being put on by the LOOM Officers. The cost of the meal will be $15.00 per person. We will be serving from to 8:00 P.M. There will be a sign up sheet at the Social Quarters, so please sign up early so we know how many to plan on. We also will be having a DJ for the night starting at 7:00 P.M. and going to???. FEATHER PARTY We will be having our annual Feather Party on Wednesday November 14th at 7:00 PM, immediately following. We will be raffling off Turkeys, Steaks and Family packs of Meat. We will also be serving free Turkey Salad Sandwiches, while the last. Come out and enjoy yourselves by playing at 6:00 and then win your Thanksgiving Dinner after that. Diabetes Benefit Show The Women of the Moose are having a Dinner and Chuck Salvo Show on Saturday November 10, 2007 with the proceeds going to the American Diabetes. A Buffet Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM with Baked Chicken Breast, Stuffed Green Pepper, Vegetables, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Salad Bread and Dessert. The show after the meat will be Chuck Salvo is a comedian who has entertained at the Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago as well as hosted a radio show. Great entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Tickets are $15.00 and are on sale in the Social Quarters. ATTENTION Because of a new State Law effective January 1, 2008, SMOKING will not be allowed in the Lodge or within 15 feet of a main entrance. Becker From the Administrator s Desk.. Harvard 1289 is a strong Lodge and is alive, well and thriving. We are a major participant in the community and its activities. Our Officers are committed to the overall Success of the Lodge and all of our programs. We need your support. Help us increase our Membership, either by signing a new candidate or re-enrolling a former member. We have a full calendar of events. There is something of interest for everyone. Volunteers are always welcome. Just leave your name and phone number in the Social Quarters and we will get back to you. We serve the best food in town 4 nights a week, plus breakfast three times a month and Steak Fry and Prime Rib once a month. Our prices are always reasonable. We need your reservation the Saturday prior to our dinners, so that we know how many to prepare for. Keep your Lodge active by joining us. Come have fun and check us out!! See you soon. We can accommodate up to 300 people in the room and the Women of the Moose can serve up a great meal. You can check out this great deal by contacting the office and they can give you all the details. We have several projects running and several more on the horizon. If you have internet access, www.harvardmoose.org has some current pictures and flyers of our upcoming events. First off, with the success of our trip to see Wicked. I have booked us 50 tickets to see Disney s The Lion King in Milwaukee on February 16 th, 2008. This trip will cost $75 per ticket. We have upgraded the seat selection and have included a bus this time. Lunch will be on your own. There are several nice restaurants located near the theatre. Tickets are available now on a first come first served basis and payment is due in full at the time you purchase your ticket. If you have any questions, as always, call the women s office. Joyce s suitcase project was an overwhelming success. Thanks to all who donated. Shirley Thompson s craft fair and bake sale will be held before the steak fry on November 17 th. To those who have something to contribute, please have all your items prices and out to the lodge before then. Our Christmas potluck will be 20 th of December. The meeting will be at 6PM and potluck will be at 7:30PM. I will be collecting donations for the local animal shelters until the end of November. There is a box in the hallway for your donations of canned cat and dog food. Also, shelters are in need of office supplies, blankets, toys and treats. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Let s pull together and give homeless animals a good holiday. The ladies that hang out in the social quarters on Saturdays are looking for a few good ladies who d like to join them for some nickel poker. They ve informed me its nice to play with a good group and they like to go out for dinner afterwards. If you re up for the challenge, meet them in the social quarters around 1PM on Saturdays. As always, we are looking for volunteers for bingo lunches and various upcoming functions. Keep an eye to the bulletin boards, tables and www.harvardmoose.org or up coming projects and events.
