METHODE CAP CLASSIQUE Bon Courage Jacques Bruere Brut 325 Region: Robertson Fruit driven beautifully poised. Aromas with peace and hints of citrus. Rich creamy flavours with a lively mousse which awakens the palate. A good combination of fruitiness and yeastiness. Noble Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes provide the ingredients for this classy Cap Classique wine, styled on the classic Champagne wines. The palate has both intensity and delicacy. Crisp with a lingering finish. Krone Night Nectar Demi-Sec 235 Bottle fermented using traditional varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Aromas of baked golden apple and marzipan. Refreshing lemon curd and subtle fruit flavour fill the palate. Charmingly drinkable, generous with a satisfying touch of sweetness. SPARKLING WINES JOHN B Brut Chardonnay 175 Region: Robertson This is an exciting and lively dry sparkling wine expressing flavours of fresh citrus and orange blossom. The pallet reveals green apple flavours and is full-bodied with a good balancing acidity and finishes with a lingering, yeasty aftertaste. Bon Courage Blush Vin Doux 165 Region: Robertson A delightful carbonated sparkling wine with a slight hint of Muscat on the nose. Clean, fruity and refreshing finish. This pink semi-sweet sparkling wine makes a refreshing alternative to the norm. ROSE & BLANC DE NOIR Boschendal Blanc De Noir 125 Effortless, just-dry, pale salmon hue, aromas of fresh strawberries and red fruit Darling Cellars Semi-Sweet Rose 35 100 Region: Darling A Blushing new blend showing fruity and floral aromas. This is a soft friendly wine with a balanced sweetness on taste. DRY WHITE WINES SAUVIGNON BLANC Neil Ellis Groenekloof Sauvignon Blanc 205 Region: Darling Predominant flavours are those of tropical fruit with herbaceous overtones, whilst the overall impression is of elegance and delicacy with a long flavoursome finish. Hartenberg Sauvignon Blanc 175 On the bouquet, intense grassy, tropical fruits, litchi and white flower aromatics show. The palate has a clean, vibrant entry that follows through to great mid-palate weight and fullness. The wine finishes long and creamy. Bon Courage The Gooseberry Bush 40 130 Region: Robertson Platter Wine Guide 2015 2½ Stars A delicate fruitful wine in the "new world" style. The upfront acids add a refreshing dimension. The style is crisp and dry with mouth-watering gooseberry and tropical fruit salad flavours, with a hint of citrus on the palate. These carry through well into a long tangy finish. Nose loaded with guava and coriander amongst other ripe tropical tones. La Capra Sauvignon Blanc 35 65 Region: Paarl Served On-Tap Tropical and passion fruit aromas on the nose, with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel, well balanced acidity and lingering aftertaste on the palate CHENIN BLANC Kleine Zalze Select Chenin Blanc 195 On the nose, there are concentrated aromas of peach, lime and litchi fruit with hints of sweet melon and well-balanced French oak wood flavours. Ripe layers of fruit, both combined with subtle wood give this wine a good length of fruit and creamy mouth feel, with an elegant acidity in the background. Spier Signature Chenin Blanc 40 130 The wine shows aromas of guava and tropical fruit with subtle hints of kiwi. A well-balanced palate of lively fruit shows firm acidity and a long, mouth-watering finish.
CHARDONNAY Warwick First Lady Unwooded Chardonnay 180 A great mix of citrus and melons on the nose, easy drinking wine that over delivers on quality vs price. No sign of wood gives the wine great accessibility for everyday enjoyment. Bon Courage Unwooded Chardonnay 145 The wine spends approximately 6 months on the lees. It shows diverse tropical flavours of guava and melon. Rich on the palate following through to a fresh, lemon zest finish. Spier Signature Chardonnay 40 130 Platter Wine Guide 2015 3 Stars The wine is green in colour with a yellow hue, with ripe tropical notes and whiffs of vanilla and slight butterscotch on the nose. On the palate, attractive citrus fruit flavours mingle with melon. Smooth, wellbalanced and creamy with soft, pleasant acidity. SEMI SWEET WHITE WINE De Krans Moscato Perle 135 Region: Calitzdorp A South African first : a slightly sparkling moscato or perle wine. Naturally sweet, grapey with a refreshing fizz. Boschendal Le Bouquet 35 100 Glistening gold with a flourish of fruity and floral fragrances including pink lady apples, litchi, papaya, roses and honeysuckle that blossom on a mouth-filling sumptuous palate brimming with juicy pear, peach and ripe citrus flavours all perfectly balanced with a touch of sweetness and a fresh, fruity finish. LIGHT WINE Robertson Extra Light Chenin Blanc 35 100 Region: Robertson Tropical bouquet with floral notes. Ripe yellow apple and pineapple on the palate.
DRY RED WINES CABERNET SAUVIGNON Warwick First Lady Cabernet 195 The wine has a deep and intense ruby red colour. The nose reveals lots of red berries and sweet black currents, complemented by sweet vanilla and chocolate oak background and pleasant herbal undertones. The smooth, ripe, round tannins make this wine easy to drink while still retaining a full body. Spier Signature Cabernet 150 Dark ruby in colour, the wine shows prominent plum on the nose with hints of caramel, tobacco and oak. These aromas follow through to an elegant, medium-bodied palate with a lingering blackcurrant aftertaste. Franschhoek Churchyard Cabernet 40 130 Region: Franschhoek Deep crimson with intense blackcurrants and violets on the nose. Concentrated currants and mulberry fruit flavours enhanced by savoury oak spice for a smooth finish. Pairs well with our slow roasted lamb shank, gorgonzola cheese pastas or your favourite fillet steak. MERLOT Kleine Zalze Cellar Selection Merlot 175 A medium-bodied, spicy, elegant wine with ripe plum and red berry fruit aromas on the nose that carry through to the palate. These fruit flavours are complimented by a crisp, well integrated acidity and an elegant velvety finish. Bon Courage The Mulberry Bush 40 130 Region: Franschhoek Plums and berries on nose and palate. Smooth and well-rounded, the finish is long and velvety. La Capra Merlot 35 65 Region: Paarl Served On-Tap Soft ripe red fruit with hints of mint on the nose are followed by a wellrounded palate filled with plum fruit. The wine boasts a wellintegrated acidity and polished tannins.
PINOTAGE Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage 205 Fine, pure blackcurrant and blackberry fruit. Sweet, lush and pure with beautiful purity. The palate has lovely pure blackberry fruit with some chocolate and spice notes. Really rich, pure and sweet with great definition. Brampton Pinotage 165 Deep ruby with a purple tinged rim, revealing bright red and black berry fruit aroma and flavour expressions of mulberry, raspberry and cherry. A ripe, rich style of wine with a fresh finish. Well integrated tannins add intensity and silkiness, backed by the tobacco spiciness typical of Pinotage. SHIRAZ Neil Ellis Groenekloof Shiraz 225 Region: Darling Red purple colour. Pure blackberry fruit with underlying white pepper, liquorice aromas and hints of violets. Elegant but concentrated palate with underlying cedar spice and a finely balanced tannin structure. Vergelegen Shiraz 195 Region: Helderberg Dark ruby with violets, spice, chocolate, peat/smoke and black berry fruit on the nose. The palate shows a balanced acidity, with rich tannins and a long clean fruit dominated aftertaste Spier Signature Shiraz 150 Dark plum in colour, the wine shows inviting aromas of white pepper and ginger with mouth-watering fruit. A fruit-driven palate hosts wellstructured tannin with hints of sweet and smoky American oakdelivered flavours.
RED BLENDS Edgebaston The Pepper Pot 185 Pot-pourri of 6 varietals, led by the spicy varietals of Shiraz and Mouvedre. Well balanced, juicy, and very drinkable. Wonderful middle palate. Hartenberg Cabernet / Shiraz 170 Peppery and spicy with luscious berry aromas. The wine has elegance and rich fruit flavours. The fruit / oak balance is stylish and has a smooth, silky "drink me" finish, with good structure and length. Boschendal Lanoy Cabernet / Merlot 145 An attractive burst of rich dark to black fruits showing mulberry, blackcurrant, ripe plum and spice aromas that carry through to a smooth, juicy entry supported by ripe tannins and just discernible cigar box spiciness. ORGANIC WINES Reyneke Organic White 145 A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon sourced from Organic vineyards around the Western Cape. gooseberry, greengage and lemon peel fruitiness on the nose leading to fresh lily flower fragrance. Reyneke Organic Red 145 A blend of Cabernet and Shiraz. Blackcurrant, mulberry and hints of spice on the nose. Juicy palate of dark berry fruit with a lasting finish of accessible tannins. ITALIAN VARIETALS Altydgedacht Barbera 195 Region: Durbanville South African pioneer of this varietal. Earthy, dried herb notes combine with bright berry fruit, the tannins and acid nicely in balance. Great with Italian fare.
