MESSAGE FROM THE COMMODORE To all, As we near the Fourth of July weekend, our Devils Lake Yacht Club members are continuing to enjoy all the benefits of the Club. The Tiki Party was a great success and had a tremendous amount of praise from our enthusiastic participants. the quality of customer service our management and stall provides continues to impress our Club members and their guests. Until the end of July we are extending our new membership drive which rewards a prospective member as well as the referring member. This is a really great time to introduce your friends, family and associates to the Club and become a part of our Yacht Club Family. Look forward to seeing you at the Club as we enjoy another great summer on Devils Lake! Best wishes, Mike Apling, Commodore A fun time was had by all at the Wine & Dine and Tiki Party

Message from the Manager Happy 4 th of July! We are midway through the Fun in the Sun season so I hope you have been enjoying your club and all of the amenities it has to offer. June was a busy month at the club and July s calendar is full of activities for the whole family. The weekend of 4 th of July is packed with fun and good food! Look for a list of all of the activities on the front page of this newsletter. Don t forget, swimming lessons are free to you and your children and grandchildren, as are sailing lessons. If you want to participate and have not signed up yet, all of the information is included in this newsletter. We also have included some children s activities during the Tiki Party on July 15 th. That party is from 2:00 to 6:00 and the steel drum band, Up Rizin will provide the entertainment. Cheeseburger in Paradise is the theme and Chef Greg makes the best burgers in town! Our regular menu will be available for dinner in the dining room beginning at 5:00. Prepare to be All Shook Up when Elvis returns to the building on Thursday night, July 20 th. A special themed menu will be featured instead of our regular menu. Call your friends and make your reservations early! The Auxiliary s annual dinner dance is scheduled for Saturday, July 29 th, and this year the theme is a Luau. Music will be provided by Airtight. This special annual club event is very well-attended and the dining room will be closed for regular dining at 3:00, so we can prepare and execute this highlight event of the season. Get your table of friends together and call for a reservation! Finally, please consider becoming more involved in your club by joining the Ladies Auxiliary or participating in euchre on Wednesday nights or Corn Hole on Thursday nights. Your new best friends are waiting to meet you! Here to serve, Steve Gongola Fleet 31 News Jon Cousino Sailing Camp has begun! We have a large group of eager students who are learning and having a good time. Fleet 31 had their awards presentation last month and the recipients are pictured to the right. Jon Cousino Fleet Captain 734-347-2588 joncousino@gmail.com SCHEDULE FOLLOWING NL Entertainment Committee We continue to have live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night, through Labor Day weekend. July is a big month for entertainment. We will have full bands both Friday and Saturday nights the weekend before Independence Day and the weekend after. Our second Tiki Party will be Saturday July 15 with our favorite steel drum band Up Rizin. On July 29 Airtight will be playing for the dinner dance luau party. We look forward to seeing everyone at the club this month! Craig Winn for the Entertainment Committee

Membership Drive Attention all members! Build the club membership by bringing in a new paid senior* member and we will reward you and the new member! We will give you and the new senior* member a $200.00 credit on your account! The credit can be applied to the restaurant, bar or ship store! Sound easy? It is! Just talk about the club you love to everybody who will listen. Then, bring the prospective senior* member to the club. You can give them a tour and Steve or Pam will explain the financial commitment and give them an application to fill out. Once all dues and fees are paid by the new member (and you, if you have not already done so) we will give you a $200.00 credit on your account and a $200.00 credit on the new member s account. The credit is for use in the dining room, bar or ship store! *Senior Members are between the ages of 36 and 69 Auxiliary Report It's hard to believe that it's already July. July 29this the Luau on the Beach (weather permitting) Auxiliary party. Get out your Grass Skirts and Hawaiian shirts. Be sure to put Thursday, August 3 on your calendars for Ladies Night Out. It will be a little different this year. There will not be a Buffett but a limited menu will be served later in the event. Stay tuned for times and other information. Of course the bar will be open all evening! Our Ship Store merchandise has been selling briskly and merchandise selection is down. But the good news is the order forms are now available, giving you the ability to pick the color and size that fits you best. Remember to try on sizes before ordering because some merchandise runs small and some runs big. Orders will be placed with the printer THREE times throughout the summer: June 11 th, July 9 th and August 6 th. The Auxiliary Fashion Show on June 8 th was fabulous. The serving staff that modeled our Ship Store Merchandise were a definite highlight. They modeled with piazza while we learned a little bit about each of our servers and what brought them to DLYC. Following the Fashion Show, many of our members had time to shop at the Ship Store and place customized orders. We will still have merchandise on hand, with a new order of tee shirts coming in July, to be purchased directly. The honor system is used to purchase merchandise. Ask a bartender, Steve or Pam to check out the key to the cabinets. Select your merchandise and fill out a WHITE PURCHASE DIRECT order form with the inventory number and price located on the tag. Finally put the purchase form in the white locked box hanging on the wall to the right of the cabinets. Your account will be billed for the merchandise plus tax. To place an order, use the COLORED Order Forms WITH PICTURES & PRICES OF THE MERCHANDISE. Please fill out completely. Orders will only be processed three times during the season as indicated above. When your order comes in, I will contact you by e-mail or a phone call. I will bag your merchandise and place it in the Drawer for PICK-UP Orders. When your merchandise is in you will then be billed plus tax. Happy Shopping Barb Winn
