A warmth welcome Geographical location The village of Studen is situated in the middle of the Bernese Seeland, not far from the Jura valley, between Biel and Lyss. The Florida is directly adjacent to a nature reserve and is easily accessible by both public and private transport. The complex enjoys an idyllic location at the forest lake with many waterfowl and flamingos. Origin and description of the establishment The natural setting quickly became a popular excursion destination, which caused to enhance the cafe with a large tropical plant. Barbecue at the Self-Grill and dessert specialities were in the trend, which clearly showed the number of visitors. The tropical plant restaurant has been constantly expanded over the years and supplemented with a mini golf course and miniature golf course. Soon after, the campsite was closed and converted into a parking lot in order to be able to meet the increase in number of guests. In the second generation, Christine and Urs Schwab-Wegmüller took over the company in 1972. After eight years of work, they opened an extraordinary dance hall with live music. In 1997 the Hotel Florida opened its doors with a total of 50 rooms after 14 months of construction. In 2009, Stefanie Schwab took over the company in the third generation. Our bright, friendly and tastefully decorated rooms are functionally furnished. They are equipped with a large desktop surface, a flat screen LCD TV, a radio, a direct dial telephone, wireless Internet access and a safe. All rooms can be used as double or single rooms. 40 Rooms are in our main building and 7 rooms in the Castello annex, opposite our restaurant. Check-in: Check-out: The rooms are ready from 2.00 p.m. / Arrival possible until 11.00 p.m. Saturday s and Sunday s until 11.00 p.m. If you arrive later than 11.00 p.m. / 9.00 p.m. please ask 1 2 days prior arrival for the key box code. Each room radiates a special atmosphere through its own character. To our sunbathers, the glass-lined winter garden or the terrace offers the right ambience. You can also benefit from free entrance to our qualitatively certified fitness center with sauna and steam bath. If you would like to end a team event with a mini golf or miniature golf tournament, you are in the right place, you will receive a discount on both courses. We would be happy to provide you with a diploma for the winners. Daily menu / dinner menu Florida For a luncheon with a daily menu you will get a soup or a salad as a starter and a main course. The dinner menu is a 3-course menu which is composed of the kitchen. There is a meatless alternative for vegetarian guests. Business menu For a package with a business menu, you will have a choice of 3 different main courses for lunch and two different main courses for dinner each morning. The business menu at lunch includes a starter and a main course, for dinner there is a 3-course menu. Please let us know your selection by 9.30 am or until 3.30 pm at the reception. Käptn s Lunch or Small & Fine at noon until max. 50 pers. To save you time, we offer you the daily menu or the business menu as a captain's lunch. At the Käptn's Lunch the whole menu is served at once and you can enjoy your meal without waiting a long time. You get instead of a 2-course menu, a slightly smaller main course, with a small salad and a mini dessert. Contractual provisions seminar Contractual provisions seminar The number of participants Our flat rates for seminars are applicable to events of 4 or more participants. In case of a lower number of participants, the room rental and other extras will be charged separately. The exact number of participants must be communicated to us no later than 7 days before the respective event. The exact number is binding for us, even if fewer individuals participate. In case of a higher number of attendees, the actual number of the people attending will apply. Provisional bookings Provisional bookings can be held for up to a maximum of 4 weeks prior to the event. Shorter notices must be agreed upon individually. Cancellation policy If an event is cancelled at short notice despite having been confirmed, we will have to impose the following charges to cover our costs (if we are unable to relet the rooms/seminar rooms): 30 20 days prior to the event 30% of the invoiced amount 19 10 days prior to the event 40 % of the invoiced amount 09 05 days prior to the event 60 % of the invoiced amount 04 00 days prior to the event 80 % of the invoiced amount Detailed arrangements Detailed arrangements for seminars, exhibitions and other events must be made no later than 1 week before the event, in order to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Confirmation of the event After you receive our confirmation, please return a signed and dated copy to us. By doing so, you confirm that you accept our general terms and conditions. Invoicing A few days after your event, you will receive the invoice. It is payable within 30 days of the invoice date.
