Open: 11am- 3pm and 6pm-8pm Monday Friday Saturday and Sunday by Appointment Public Schools Club Emerging Wine Makers Riedel Trophy Forward Notice Book Now A unique event on Australia s wine calendar is the inaugural Public Schools Club Emerging Wine Makers - Riedel Trophy to be held Saturday September 6 th 2014 at the Public Schools Club, 207 East Terrace, Adelaide. This is an Invitation Only event to 10 wine makers of boutique style wineries, sourced from a number of South Australian regions. The event is to recognise and promote the skills and products of young emerging wine makers educated in South Australia, using grapes grown in South Australia. Judged by Brian Barry, Ian McKenzie and Jane Paull, the Riedel Trophy will be awarded to the winemaker who presents a consistent high standard over three wines of differing grape varieties showing the versatility of the wine maker. A Public Tasting event will be open 11am 5.30pm 6 th September at the Public Schools Club, 207 East Tce, Adelaide. Entry fee of $18 will include a Riedel Ouverture Magnum glass and palate refreshing nibbles to enjoy tasting the 30 wines on show. The public can vote on the day for their favourite wine for the Public Schools Club Sandford House People s Choice award. Come and support your Club and be a part of a very special event supporting young South Australian winemakers. Secretary s Report August 2014 Exciting widespread interest is the Emerging Winemakers - Riedel Trophy to be held at Sandford House on Saturday 6 th September from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost of $18.00 includes tasting 30 wines, a Riedel Ouverture Magnum glass to take home and palaterefreshing nibbles. In just a few days with the commencement of September a reminder that quite a few of you will be a couple of months behind with your membership renewals and the grace period will have ended. Do renew and belong; not to mention benefitting from the discounts on food 10% and B.W.S 30%. Chef Steve Jarvis has started the new Spring Menu which by popular demand will include the Gourmet Lamb Shank, Clare Valley Scotch Fillet, Duck Leg and the Jamon Chicken, amongst others. Chef Steve and Restaurant Manager Shikarra have updated the function menus which include 'high tea' with fine china. Looking forward, the Sandford House Jockey Club will be holding a long Melbourne Cup Day 3 course lunch with all the trimmings on 4 th November. The Club's Christmas Party, for young and old, will be held early this year on 7 th December, 12.00 noon 5:00 p.m. During the next few weeks the Club's website will receive an extensive makeover courtesy of Club member Henry Carter who trades as Corbex Systems. New photographs have been taken for posting already. The re-painting project in the foyer, entrance vestibule and elsewhere is due for completion in the next 2 weeks - we have already had very favourable comment on the heritage colour scheme being employed as the work has been in progress. With the finer weather emerging after a cold and wild couple of winter months outside, dining under the umbrellas has recommenced. The Club welcomes new members Johnathon E. B. Ray and William A. B.
