GUIDELINES FOR FOOD VENDORS In an effort to serve all vendors with greater efficiency, new guidelines for registration and assignment of food vendors of the Harambee Festival are effective immediately. Per the attached Food Vendor Schematic Design, we are reducing the number of available food vendor spaces to twelve. There will be four vendors in three separate rows. Additionally, all food vendors are required to pay a hospitality tax to the city of Columbia. Food vendors are asked to submit paid registrations along with three numbers indicating their preferred locations. Obviously, the first number indicates your preference and so forth. Locations will be assigned by the Harambee Festival in the order in which paid registrations are received and the availability of spaces. The sooner vendors submit registrations, the greater their chances of securing their preferred locations. If your requested space is not available, you will be assigned to the next available space. All food vendors should know clearly before the Festival where they will be located, regardless of the time that they arrive. However, we encourage all vendors to arrive early. On the morning of the Festival, please register inside the HRC Arena, go to your assigned space, detach your truck or other vehicle from your trailer, and prepare for a successful day. Again, for safety reasons and per policy of the Harambee Festival, all food vendors must remove trucks or other vehicles from the Food Village as soon as possible. These changes have been implemented to demonstrate our total commitment to the Harambee Festival and to provide the very best service to our loyal and faithful vendors. We appreciate your support and look forward to a successful Thirtieth Anniversary Harambee Festival. Dr. George A. Devlin Chair, Black History and Culture Commemoration Committee December 10, 2018 **NOTE****NOTE****NOTE****NOTE** ALL FOOD VENDORS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN BUSINESS LICENSE. Food vendors are required to submit a 2% hospitality tax to the City of Columbia as outlined in the enclosed letter. The list of all food vendors are routinely forwarded to the City of Columbia. We ask for your full cooperation.
