9428 Chateau Le Boscq 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Estèphe $38.30 Blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and a whopping 10% Petit Verdot has given this wine lots of color as well as some firm tannins, a classy, earthy, blue and red fruit-scented nose, medium body and good spice. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. (RP) 9425 Chateau Belgrave 2008 0.75 2008 Haut-Médoc $44.79 An elegant, fruit-driven, deep ruby/plum-colored effort, the medium-bodied 2008 reveals lots of sweet red and black currant and cherry fruit notes intertwined with hints of cedarwood, underbrush and spice. Drink this round, pure, endearing wine over the next 6-8 years. (RP) 9424 Chateau La Garde 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $38.30 Black cherry and currant flavors mingle in this solid red, while leafy, herbal notes give this a fresh green character. A straightforward wine, showing some concentration and good balance. Drink now through 2017. (WS) 9422 Chateau La Garde Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $46.41 Mineral and straightforward lemon zest notes are present in this dry, easy-going white. (RP) 9426 Chateau Rahoul 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $27.95 Black cherry, plum, tar and mineral flavors show good density in this solid red. The tannins are firm, balanced by crisp acidity. A touch charry, but fruit emerges on the finish. Drink now through 2015. (WS) 9427 Chateau Rahoul Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $29.75 This has a lightly firm, waxy edge, delivering chamomile, salted butter, green plum and lemon zest notes that show nice drive through the lengthy, full-bodied finish. This offers nice snap at the very end, too. Should flesh out with modest cellaring. Drink now through 2014. (WS) 6782 Chateau Ausone 2004 0.75 2004 Saint-Émilion $699.00 One of the vintage s most compelling wines, Alain Vauthier s beloved 2004 Ausone remains among the most concentrated wines of the vintage. Furthermore, along with Petrus, it will probably be the longest-lived. A dense purple color is accompanied by a celestial perfume of blue and black fruits, wet stones, flowers, and incense. On the palate, the wine exhibits exceptional power and concentration, but this historic terroir has also provided a surreal lightness to the wine s impression. Beautiful flavors, sensational depth, and abundant structure suggest this 2004 will not be close to full maturity for 8-10 years. It should last for four decades. (RP) 9358 Chateau Couhins Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $46.50 Fine pale yellow colour. Very attractive white floral fruit on the nose. Good vibrant fruit on the palate. Quite firm. Harmonious finish and good length. Drink 2011-2015. (Decanter) 8031 Chateau Haut-Lagrange "Grand Chene" 2004 0.75 2004 Pessac Léognan $20.80 Rustic, medium-bodied red, with stewed plums and a hint of vanilla. A little tart. (WS) PAGE 1

9548 Chateau De Sales 2008 0.75 2008 Pomerol $36.76 A lightly firm espresso edge frames the modest plum and blackberry fruit, as a lingering tobacco hint marks the finish. Stylish and easy to drink. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. (WS) 13445 Chateau Trotanoy 2007 0.75 2007 Pomerol $244.03 Revealing surprising density for a 2007, this elegant, dark plum/ruby-colored Pomerol exhibits sweet notes of iron, black currants, cherries, truffles, and herbs. Drink this deep, full-bodied, muscular offering over the next 12-15 years. (RP) 7982 Chateau d'arche 1998 (3 Pack) 0.25 1998 Sauternes $63.68 Aromas of honey, apple and caramel, follow through to a full body. Good sweet apple, vanilla and nut finish. Drink now. (WS) 9513 Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $78.00 Slightly shorter and less impressive than it was from barrel, the very good 2008 is a mid-weight Graves revealing a dark plum/garnet color along with sweet earthy, herbal, tobacco leaf, sweet and sour cherry and crushed rock characteristics. This medium-bodied, spicy 2008 tails off in the mouth. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. (RP) 7882 Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc 2004 0.75 2004 Pessac Léognan $99.23 Pretty apple, honey and lightly toasted oak on the nose. Medium-bodied, with lovely fresh acidity and a lime, green apple palate. Long, flavorful and delicious. Drink now. (WS) 6382 Chateau Lascombes 2005 0.75 2005 Margaux $144.30 A gorgeous example of Lascombes, the 2005, a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, continues the remarkable turn-around in quality that began five years ago. A stunningly opulent wine with a dense purple color, the 2005 possesses a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and graphite, full body, silky but noticeable tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a stunning, 45+-second finish. This is a brilliant, modern-styled Margaux that should age for 30-35 years. (RP) 7712 Chateau Lascombes 2006 0.75 2006 Margaux $129.00 9467 Chateau Lascombes 2008 0.75 2008 Margaux $98.00 8340 Carmes de Rieussec 2007 0.375 2007 Sauternes $27.50 2nd wine of Rieussec. The 2007 vintage was considered brilliant for Sauternes. The Carmes de Rieussec is always a delicious, sweet, vibrant wine that is an excellent value-priced Sauternes from a great house. 9413 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $97.61 One of the stars of the vintage, this elegant, smoky wine has hints of barbecue pit intermixed with sweet black currants and cherries. Dark purple and medium to full-bodied, its impressive finesse and wonderful purity make for a surprisingly forward style of Smith-Haut-Lafitte to drink over the next 15 or so years. (RP) 7638 Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Émilion $145.00 The 2006, an unfined, unfiltered blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, reveals sweet aromas of fruitcake, cassis, black cherries, roasted herbs, cedar, and spice box. This pure, textured, forward beauty should drink well for 12-15+ years. (RP) PAGE 2

9432 Chateau Quinault L'Enclos 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Émilion $60.36 This blend of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, with a little Malbec thrown in, exhibits a dark plum color and notes of raspberries, roasted herbs, incense, wet rocks and herbs. It is a mediumbodied, very evolved, elegant wine to drink over the next 8-9 years. (RP) 8592 Chateau Leoville-Las-Cases 2007 0.75 2007 Saint-Julien $255.00 Beautifully pure black currant and black cherry fruit interwoven with notions of cedar and wood are found in this medium to full-bodied, structured, masculine-styled St. Julien. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for 15 or more. (RP) 7590 Domaine de Chevalier 2006 0.75 2006 Pessac Léognan $85.00 The 2006, a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, is a revelation of sweet, lush, black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with subtle notes of scorched earth and barbecue spices. Round, luscious, sexy, and exceptionally complex, the wine is dominated by that smoky minerality that comes from this area. It is the quintessentially elegant yet substantial Pessac-Leognan with class, complexity, and potential. Should keep for two decades. (RP) 9409 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $151.85 Composed of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon and exhibiting crisp crushed rock, fig, melon and honeysuckle notes, this beautiful but backward white is capable of lasting another 2-3 decades. (RP) 5762 Chateau de Fargues 2001 0.375 2001 Sauternes $91.87 This Chateau d Yquem look-alike exhibits powerful creme brulee characteristics along with some volatile acidity, huge, full-bodied, unctuously textured flavors, ample intensity as well as purity, and caramelized tropical fruits. This brawny heavyweight requires 5-6 years of bottle age, and should evolve for three decades. (RP) 8026 Chateau de Fargues 2006 0.375 2006 Sauternes $99.00 This is really attention-getting, with a seamless toasted coconut note weaving through lush tarte tartine, creamed apricot and heather flavors. As exotic as the flavors are, they are tightly focused and framed by a mouthwatering date note, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2030. (WS) 6829 Chateau Angelus 2002 0.75 2002 Saint-Émilion $239.00 A successful offering for the vintage, the 2002 exhibits a deep ruby/purple/plum color as well as a sweet, forward style with black fruits intermixed with espresso roast, lavender, and Provencal herbs. Medium to full-bodied, lush, and round, with fine purity, ripeness, and surprising body and sweetness for a right bank 2002, it can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years. (RP) 7606 Chateau Angelus 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Émilion $369.00 A blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc, it boasts an inky/purple color as well as a sumptuous bouquet of creosote, blueberry pie, espresso roast, blackberries, and graphite. Extremely full-bodied and stunningly rich with a multi-layered texture, sweet tannin, and a 45-second finish, this exceptional 2006 is one of the great wines of St.-Emilion. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2028. (RP) 6025 Chateau Quinault L'Enclos 2005 0.75 2005 Saint-Émilion $80.00 The 2005 Quinault L Enclos is a pure, elegant, stylish wine from a blend of 70% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, and an unusual 6% Malbec. This highly-focused wine exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue in PAGE 3

addition to a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, blueberries, camphor, spring flowers, and spice box. With superb concentration, a hint of minerals, and a lovely textured mouthfeel, it should be approachable in 5-6 years, and age easily for two decades or more. (RP) 9434 Chateau Moulin Saint-Georges 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Émilion $70.99 Quite ripe, with a jammy edge to the plum, raspberry and cherry compote notes, laced with red licorice and spice on the finish. Drink now through 2014. (WS) 7577 Chateau Monbousquet 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Émilion $89.50 A blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of espresso roast, damp earth, new oak, black cherries, and black currants. Medium to full-bodied with exceptional purity, surprising intensity, good texture, and sweet tannin in the finish, this unfiltered cuvee should drink well for 12-15 years. (RP) 8349 Alter Ego de Palmer 2000 0.75 2000 Margaux $135.00 Palmer's second wine, the 2000 Alter Ego exhibits plenty of plump, fat, fleshy fruit, medium to full body, and an accessible style. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. (RP) 1128 Alter Ego de Palmer 2001 0.75 2001 Margaux $81.48 A fresh and fruity red with mineral and berry character, medium body and a good finish. The second wine of Palmer. Best after 2006. (WS) 1039 Chateau Palmer 1995 0.75 1995 Margaux $199.00 Deep garnet with a brick rim. Very pure aromas of warm cassis, kirsch and dried lavender over a touch of truffles and game. The power of the palate is in the taut structure of medium +, fine grained tannins and medium to high acidity, fleshed-out by generous rich fruit. Very long finish. Beautiful balance. (RP) 7879 Chateau Palmer 1996 0.75 1996 Margaux $239.00 Deep garnet colour going a little brick. The nose is very forthcoming with a good intensity of earthy loam and black truffle aromas mingled with dark cherry, leather, tar and black olive. Medium to high acidity and a medium+ level of very fine tannins. Great balance. Long finish. (RP) 3426 Chateau Palmer 2001 0.75 2001 Margaux $179.00 Medium-garnet colour. The nose is still very youthful with notes of ripe cassis, dark cherries, cloves, graphite, a touch of cedar and a little mint. The medium bodied, well structured palate gives medium-firm tannins, medium+ acidity with a good balance of plump, spicy fruit. The oak needs a little more time to marry and tannins are a little on the firm side but otherwise approachable now. Long finish. (RP) 9306 Chateau D'Angludet 2008 0.75 2008 Margaux $44.45 Focused and fresh, with blackberry and black currant fruit laced with black licorice and a mouthwatering iron note. The silky finish has nice weight. Drink now through 2013. (WS) 7628 Chateau Cheval Blanc 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Émilion $1,299.00 The brilliant 2006 Cheval Blanc performed better from bottle than from barrel. A blend of equal parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot grown in a superb vineyard site facing La Conseillante and l Evangile at the very edge of the sandy, gravelly soils of St.-Emilion, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of menthol, PAGE 4

charcoal, boysenberries, black currants, and hints of cocoa and caramel. Lush, textured, and opulent with superb purity, medium to full body, savory flavors, and sweet, sexy tannins, this stunning Cheval Blanc may be even better than the 2005. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030. (RP) 8072 Chateau d'yquem 2006 0.375 2006 Sauternes $549.00 This has lovely flavors of apricot, dried tangerine, pineapple and papaya rushing along, supported by hazelnut, frangipane and coconut notes. Despite the depth, it's very, very pure, with filigreed acidity carrying the long, long finish. Drink now through 2037. (WS) 7892 Y d'yquem 2005 0.75 2005 Sauternes $367.24 Has lovely vanilla and tropical fruit character. Full, rich and long, yet elegant and racy, with dried pineapple and white peach. Gorgeous. This is two-thirds Sauvignon and one-third Semillon. (WS) 7979 Chateau Filhot 2003 0.375 2003 Sauternes $27.40 Aromas of apples, peaches and honey follow through to a full-bodied palate, with lots of sweetness and a long aftertaste of dried pineapple and creamy vanilla. This is much better than from barrel. Best after 2009. (WS) 7680 R de Rieussec 2006 0.75 2006 Sauternes $22.17 Made from equal proportions of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, the R de Rieussec is made only in vintages when weather permits. Harvesters must carefully select out only those berries not infected by botrytis. The resulting wine is at once rich and crisp, with notes of peach and honeysuckle. 7538 Chateau Talbot Caillou Blanc 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Julien $44.74 Slightly candied on the nose, with aromas of lemon boiled sweets that follow through to a full body, with a simple finish. Drink now. (WS) 8474 Chateau Doisy-Daene Bordeaux Blanc 2007 0.75 2007 Barsac $35.87 There is some elegant fruit, perfume and beautiful mineral notes.the wine, overall, is well-balanced with no rough edges. It is very nice now but being a well-made White Bordeaux should keep for several years. 9080 Chateau Coutet 2006 0.75 2006 Barsac $110.61 There's intense botrytis spice on the nose, with lemon peel and dried pineapple. Full-bodied, superspicy and intense. Extremely racy. A beautiful wine. Best after 2014. (WS) 6051 Clos Puy Arnaud 2005 0.75 2005 Côtes de Castillon $50.55 Revealing plenty of crushed rock/mineral characteristics along with hints of black cherries, intense fruit, and a beautiful mouthfeel, this dense ruby/purple-tinged effort should drink well for 7-8 years. (RP) 9332 Chateau Citran 2008 0.75 2008 Haut-Médoc $34.00 A dark garnet/ruby color is followed by notes of Christmas fruitcake, red currants, cherries, herbs and underbrush. Drink this pleasant, medium-bodied wine over the next 2-4 years. (RP) 7845 Chateau Chasse-Spleen 1985 0.75 1985 Moulis $145.57 Very ripe and generous with lots of plum, earth, chocolate and anise flavors that are packed in together with soft, mouth-drying tannins needing a few years to resolve themselves. PAGE 5

7852 Chateau Chasse-Spleen 2000 0.75 2000 Moulis $104.69 A classic, muscular, rich yet elegant effort made in a medium to full-bodied, concentrated style, the 2000 Chasse- Spleen possesses abundant quantities of minerals, earth, black cherry, and cassis fruit. It will need 4-5 years of cellaring, and will keep for two decades. (RP) 9438 Chateau Saint Pierre 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Julien $84.62 Its opaque ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of graphite, barbecue smoke, blackberries and black currants. The full-bodied, textured 2008 Saint Pierre reveals a skyscraper-like mouthfeel along with tremendous viscosity and unctuosity. One of the richest and potentially longest-lived 2008s, it is a fabulous sleeper of the vintage. Drink it over the next 20+ years. (RP) 9549 Chateau Gloria 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Julien $57.43 A stunning sleeper of the vintage, this beautiful, already irresistible, plum/garnet-colored 2008 is a wine to purchase by the case. It possesses a dense plum/purple color, a glorious perfume of Christmas fruitcake, cedarwood, black currants, jammy cherries and licorice, medium to full body and a silky personality. It will provide both a hedonistic and intellectual turn-on over the next 10-15 years. (RP) 9363 Chateau Giscours 2008 0.75 2008 Margaux $76.61 Dark plum/garnet, this elegant, medium to full-bodied, beguiling, seductive 2008 is a sleeper of the vintage. Round and silky-smooth with lovely black cherry and black currant fruit imbued with touches of smoke, herbs and earth, this relatively evolved effort is best consumed over the next 15-17 years. (RP) 8335 Chateau du Tertre 2007 0.75 2007 Margaux $50.00 Fragrant, leafy cassis. Fresh and lively on the palate. Energy and just the right amount of flesh for the structure. Spice on the mid palate. Overall quite light and leafy but not green. (JR) 7574 Chateau du Tertre 2006 0.75 2006 Margaux $64.50 Herbaceous, sweet, cedary notes intermixed with black currant and barrique smells as well as some autumnal, foresty notes are followed by a medium-bodied wine that tails off in the mouth and finishes with some aggressive tannins. (RP) 6766 Les Hauts du Tertre 2004 0.75 2004 Margaux $28.59 Les Hauts du Tertre is the second wine of the fifth growth of Chateau du Tertre in the commune of Margaux. It is made from grapes from the young vines of the estate which are less than 20 years old. The estate has 50 hectares of perfectly drained gravelly soils. The blend is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. 13442 Chateau Brown 2000 0.75 2000 Pessac Léognan $70.69 Undoubtedly the most impressive wine I have ever tasted from Brown, the dense ruby/purple-colored 2000 offers up excellent aromas of cassis, red currants, cedar, and tobacco. Medium-bodied, with super concentration as well as purity, power combined with elegance, and a moderately tannic finish, this is a stylish classic Graves as well as a sleeper of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015. (RP) 13443 Chateau Brown 2002 0.75 2002 Pessac Léognan $59.83 An impressive example. Medium-full body. Ripe, gently oaky, very good acidity. Ample, ripe, harmonious fruit. Plenty of depth and class. Finishes long and complex. Very good plus. Drink from 2008. (Decanter) PAGE 6

Best after 2007. (WS) 6470 Chateau Brown 2005 0.75 2005 Pessac Léognan $80.94 This lower pedigree wine represents undeniable quality/value rapport in 2005. This vintage is so deep in quality among the better run, less heralded estates, that these wines should appeal to readers looking for terrific values from Bordeaux. Most of these wines are Merlot-based and will be drinkable young. Sleeper of the vintage. (RP) 6052 Chateau Guiraud 2005 0.75 2005 Sauternes $99.00 The 2005 exhibits classic notes of tapenade, creme de cassis, tar, flowers, pepper, and licorice. Full-bodied and pure with moderately high tannins as well as a subtle hint of oak, it will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring, and should keep for 15 years. (RP) 8160 Chateau Guiraud 2006 0.375 2006 Sauternes $45.50 A flamboyant display of smoky oak, buttered peach and caramelized pineapples and orange marmalade notes are impressive. On the palate, the wine exhibits a multi-dimensional, textured, full-bodied style with terrific fruit, depth, and some toasty oak in the background. This is a big, blockbuster style of Sauternes to drink over the next 20-25 years. (RP) 8894 Chateau Guiraud 2007 0.375 2007 Sauternes $40.97 The Guiraud 2007 has a typically unabashed, exuberant bouquet with tangerine, pear, white peach and honeysuckle. Best after 2009. (WS) 9435 Chateau Grand Pontet 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Émilion $64.99 The 2008 Grand Pontet is a solidly made effort for the vintage. It came in at 14% natural alcohol and yields were very small (20 hectoliters per hectare). The wine exhibits a deep ruby/plum/garnet color and notes of Christmas fruitcake, underbrush, pepper and spice. It is an intriguingly spicy wine on the palate as well, with medium-bodied flavors, sweet tannin, and then a slight narrowing in the finish which kept my score from going any higher. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. (RP) 5421 Chateau Citran 2004 0.75 2004 Haut-Médoc $28.25 Offers plum and cedar character. Medium- to light-bodied, with slightly austere tannins. (WS) 6378 Chateau La Couspaude 2005 0.75 2005 Saint-Émilion $108.00 An outstanding sleeper of the vintage, the 2005 may turn out to be one of the finest examples yet of this modernstyled St.-Emilion. Nicely oaked, ripe but not over-ripe, it possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet scents of pain grille, kirsch liqueur, and black currants. The 2005 is typically pure, medium to full-bodied, opulent, and showy, with more elegance (largely because of its fresh, lively acidity) and serious structure than usual. Its intense aromatics of blackberry, black cherry, and herbs is backed-up by a full-bodied wine possessing ripe tannin as well as outstanding weight, length, and overall harmony. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2022. (RP) 8651 Chateau La Fleur Morange 2001 0.75 2001 Saint-Émilion $145.98 A sleeper of the vintage, this stunning effort is produced from a 5-acre, 70-year old vineyard planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The impressive aromas are followed by a dense, full-bodied, beautifully textured St. Emilion with great purity as well as palate presence. Give it 1-2 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 10-15. (RP) 8494 Chateau Pape Clement 2007 0.75 2007 Graves $205.00 One of the stars of the vintage, this blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot reveals sweet burning ember, charcoal, barbecue smoke, black currant, plum, and graphite notes. (RP) 5978 Chateau Sociando-Mallet 2003 0.75 2003 Haut-Médoc $74.08 An exceptional vintage for Sociando-Mallet, 2003 has produced a spectacularly concentrated, inky blue/purplecolored wine with an extraordinary nose of blackberries, raspberries, some white flowers, and a hint of lead pencil shavings. The wine is powerful, extremely full-bodied, quite tannic, and seriously endowed. This is stunning wine that is rich, layered, and in need of 5-6 years of bottle-age. It should keep for 30+ years. (RP) 4745 Chateau Palmer 2003 0.75 2003 Margaux $189.00 Very deep purple colour. Warm cassis, mocha, vanillin and cinnamon aromas predominate with a pinch of anise and some dried plum. (RP) 5781 Chateau Margaux 1999 0.75 1999 Margaux $844.32 The sexy, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Margaux is already revealing complex aromatics. This surprisingly charming and round offering is reminiscent of a vintage such as 1985. Although neither a blockbuster nor a heavyweight, it grows in the mouth revealing tremendous length as well as purity. This is an archetypical Chateau Margaux of richness, finesse, balance, and symmetry. It can be drunk young, but promises to age nicely for two decades. (RP) 11428 La Fleur Pourret 2005 0.75 2005 Saint-Émilion $55.81 This wine has interesting grape varieties with Cabernet Franc (35%) along with the merlot. The complex perfume is followed by a dark ruby/plum-colored wine with beautifully sweet tannins, a silky, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish. This outstanding Margaux should drink nicely for 15-20 years. (RP) 9399 Lacoste Borie 2008 0.75 2008 Pauillac $41.50 An exceptional cellar candidate at a very good price. Soft tannins, a seductive mouthfeel and surprising length suggest this wine can be drunk now and over the next decade. (RP) 8098 Chateau Phelan-Segur 'Frank Phelan' 2006 0.75 2005 Saint-Estèphe $38.38 Dried herb, with hints of nutmeg and fruit on the nose. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and clean fruit. Typically medim to full-bodied with vanilla, cream and apple on the palate. 9521 Chateau Doisy-Daene Bordeaux Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Barsac $36.76 Expressive and laden with waxy grapefruit, lemons and rhubarb. A lovely, rich concentration to this, with buckets of flavour, yet a defined crispness to the fruit as well. This possesses poise, drive, breadth and depth. 9871 Chateau Doisy-Daene 2008 0.375 2008 Barsac $39.75 This has two sides for now a rich apricot, melon and creamed apple side, along with a brisker clementine, green fig and kiwifruit side. Delivers power and snap, richness and vibrancy. When they come together, this should be a winner. Best from 2013 through 2023. (WS) 9469 Chateau Boyd Cantenac 2008 0.75 2008 Margaux $68.99 Although closed at present, the potentially outstanding 2008 exhibits a deep plum/purple color, elevated tannins and a more masculine style than most vintages. Good weight and purity along with hints of licorice, underbrush, black currants and subtle smoky oak are found in this firm effort. Give it 4-5 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 15+. (RP) 8612 Chateau Latour 1989 0.75 1989 Pauillac $1,173.96 An evolved dark ruby color reveals amber at the edge. The nose offers aromas of caramel, coffee, ripe black cherry and currant fruit, cedar, and spice box. Although medium-bodied, with low acidity, the wine lacks richness in the mid-palate, and is surprisingly abrupt in the finish. It is a very fine, delicious Latour, but it is hard to believe it will attain the weight and flavor dimensions its producers suggest. Anticipated maturity: now-2020. (RP) 8663 Chateau Couhins Blanc 2007 0.75 2007 Pessac Léognan $40.00 Lemon, mineral and green apple character. Medium- to full-bodied, with lively acidity and bright fruit. The moderately intense nose of graphite, forest floor, and sweet black currant fruit is followed by a medium-bodied, elegant wine with light to moderate tannin. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (RP) 11154 Chateau Lynch Bages 2000 0.75 2000 Pauillac $519.12 Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP) 7644 Chateau Montrose 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Estèphe $159.00 A blend of approximately two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, one-third Merlot, and a tiny dollop of Petit Verdot, the most dramatic difference between the 2006, and wines made by the previous administration is that Jean Delmas produces wines with sweeter, silkier tannins, although analytically, they are as high as those found in the great Montrose vintages of the past. The 2006 is extraordinarily elegant and finesse-styled, but it exhibits stunningly concentrated, sweet blackberry and cassis fruit with hints of flowers and minerals. Full-bodied with a savory, expansive mid-palate as well as sweet, noble tannins, this beauty will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age, and should drink well for 20-25+ years. (RP) 9470 Chateau Montrose 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Estèphe $143.02 One of the superstars of the vintage, this classic Montrose offers a dense purple color followed by gorgeously sweet black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with loamy, earthy, forest floor notes, a floral component and a long, full-bodied finish. (RP) 7897 Aile d'argent Blanc 2005 0.75 2005 Pauillac $105.58 Perhaps the finest white wine yet produced by Mouton Rothschild, this 2005 offers lovely notes of honeysuckle, tropical fruits, crushed rocks, and subtle wood. It is a delicious generic Bordeaux to consume over the next 4-5 years. (RP) 8838 Aile d'argent Blanc 2006 0.75 2006 Pauillac $114.33 The dry white wine from the staff at Mouton Rothschild is generally a blend of two-thirds Sauvignon Blanc and the rest Semillon, with usually one percent or so of Muscadelle added in the blend. This is an increasingly intriguing wine, and the 2006 exhibits plenty of honeysuckle, orange skin, and fig-like notes, with crisp, zesty acidity and a medium-bodied, fresh finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. (RP) 10864 Aile d'argent Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Pauillac $136.66 Composed of 63% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon and 2% Muscadelle, it exhibits lots of minerality, more honeyed richness than remembered prior to bottling and a zesty finish. (RP) PAGE 13

(RP) 7654 Marojallia 2006 0.75 2006 Margaux $165.00 This is a quintessentially elegant Margaux, with a dense ruby/purple color and notes of charcoal, cassis, a hint of smoking embers, and a subtle touch of spring flower garden. Dense on the palate with medium to full-bodied flavors, superb concentration, and moderate tannin, this wine requires patience, but is impeccably well-made as usual. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2024. (RP) 9406 Chateau Poujeaux 2008 0.75 2008 Moulis $48.68 Another sleeper of the vintage, this beautifully plump, fleshy, corpulent 2008 exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as sweet blue and black fruit, smoke, earth and forest floor characteristics. Medium-bodied with outstanding concentration, purity and texture, it can be drunk now and over the next decade. (RP) 7579 Chateau Clos Fourtet 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Émilion $85.00 A blend of 80% Merlot and the rest equally split between Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this wine has a dense purple color and a beautifully sweet nose of blackberry and blueberry fruits intermixed with acacia flowers, charcoal, and some subtle oak. The wine is nicely textured, medium-bodied, and very concentrated for a 2006 St.-Emilion, with a certain degree of opulence and sucrosite. This is a beauty, with moderate tannins in the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2027. (RP) 9561 Chateau Clos Fourtet 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Émilion $89.56 A strong effort, the 2008 was made from tiny yields of 28.5 hectoliters per hectare, and attained 14% natural alcohol. It reveals sweet licorice, black currant and blackberry fruit notes intermixed with truffle and asphalt characteristics in its pure, rich, opulent, full-bodied personality. One of the finest St.-Emilions of the vintage, it is far more accessible than the 2010 and should continue to drink well for 15-20 years. Enjoy this attractive Pomerol over the next 5-7 years. (RP) 9440 Chateau La Pointe 2008 0.75 2008 Pomerol $55.50 A correct, pleasant wine, the 2008 offers notes of dusty, loamy soil, cherries, herbs and oak. It is a mediumbodied, lightweight claret to drink over the next 6-8 years. (RP) 9455 Chateau Du Glana 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Julien $37.65 This has a nice fleshy feel to the roasted plum and fig notes, while graphite and charcoal flavors move underneath. A lightly dusty edge marks the finish. Drink now through 2015. (WS) 8539 Chateau Clerc Milon 2007 0.75 2007 Pauillac $78.00 This impressive effort reveals more layers of flavor than most 2007s. Exquisite on the palate, this full-bodied, layered, multidimensional wine should prove to be one of the vintage's most extraordinary success stories. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2020. (RP) 9686 Chateau Pichon Comtesse de Lalande 2000 0.75 2000 Pauillac $375.00 Dense purple in color, with loads of coffee, mocha, creme de cassis, and chocolate notes, this is a somewhat unusual blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and a whooping 10% Petit Verdot, with a little bit of Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot certainly gives the wine more of a tapenade, floral note, which can be interpreted by some as herbal. This is a rich, opulent, stunning Pichon Lalande that is beginning to drink beautifully, yet should continue to improve for at least another 10-15 years and last 30 or more years. (RP) 7648 Chateau Pichon Comtesse de Lalande 2006 0.75 2006 Pauillac $199.00 Blackish ruby. Straightforward cassis and cigarbox nose, relatively evolved. Well melded but a little bit jagged in terms of acidity. Very well-managed tannins with some real class and appeal and succulence encased in some pretty impressive and assertive tannins. Very brutal finish. This should make exciting old bones. (JR) 9511 Chateau Carbonnieux 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $57.50 A pretty, seductive style of wine, the medium-bodied, dark plum/ruby-tinged 2008 exhibits generous quantities of black cherries, tobacco leaf, licorice and earth as well as loads of spice, an endearing, lush texture and rich fruit. Enjoy it now and over the next 10-15 years. (RP) 9512 Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc 2008 0.75 2008 Pessac Léognan $67.25 This superb 2008 exhibits lots of fig, honeysuckle, orange zest and lemon butter notes. It should drink well for 15-20 years. (RP) 8426 Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc 2007 0.75 2007 Pessac Léognan $60.00 Ripe nose with lime, gooseberry and a touch of cut grass: good definition and lift. The palate is ripe and full of grapefruit, lime and gooseberry notes, but just lacking some tension towards the finish. (RP) 7589 Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc 2006 0.75 2006 Pessac Léognan $62.50 Crisp honeyed grapefruit, white currant, and some smoked herbs are present in this classic, textbook dry white from Pessac-Leognan. The texture is gorgeous, and the wine aromatic and pure. Drink it over the next 15 years. (RP) 9079 Clos des Jacobins 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Émilion $99.69 The finest wine made at this estate since 1982, this sleeper of the vintage possesses complex aromas of herbs, black currants, licorice, camphor, and hints of spicy oak as well as damp earth. It is a richly fruity, dense St. Emilion with a plush texture, sweet tannins, and gorgeous length. Consume it over the next 10-12 years. (RP) PAGE 15

9453 Le Petit Cheval 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Émilion $161.59 The 2008 Le Petit Cheval (65% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot) is a light, but not a wimpy wine. It is more cedary and evolved, with spice box, tobacco leaf, licorice, and red and black fruits in a medium-bodied, classic style that should drink nicely for 10-12 years. (RP) 7991 Chateau Calon Segur 2003 0.75 2003 Saint-Estèphe $177.12 Loads of crushed berries, with mineral, lightly toasted oak and licorice. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. This is the sleeper of the vintage. Best after 2010. (WS) 6731 Chateau Cos d'estournal 1990 0.75 1990 Saint-Estèphe $442.66 It exhibits sweet berry fruit intermixed with spice box, herbs, and spring flowers. Expansive, round, and sensual, with wonderful purity as well as lushness, this irresistible wine can be enjoyed over the next 6-10 years. (RP) 6732 Chateau Cos d'estournal 1995 0.75 1995 Saint-Estèphe $265.50 A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age for 2-3 decades. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2025. (RP) 7649 Chateau Cos d'estournal 2006 0.75 2006 Saint-Estèphe $245.00 The exceptional 2006 Cos d Estournel is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, 55% of the production was utilized. Revealing superb intensity for a 2006 as well as an inky/blue/purple color, and a sweet bouquet of blue and black fruits, licorice, graphite, and charcoal, this full-bodied 2006 possesses high levels of sweet tannin. This wine is characterized by a freshness and precision that give it a 1996-like affinity. Enjoy this beautifully concentrated, exceptionally pure, statuesque Cos d Estournel over the next 20-25 years. By the way, it was bottled without any fining or filtration. (RP) 9388 Chateau Cos d'estournal 2008 0.75 2008 Saint-Estèphe $210.24 This is a classic Cos revealing lots of tannin along with damp earth, black currant, sweet black cherry, graphite, licorice and truffle characteristics. This medium to full-bodied, structured, firm, broodingly backward, impenetrable effort demands 5-6 years of bottle age; it should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP) 6737 Chateau Cos d'estournel 2002 0.75 2002 Saint-Estèphe $172.83 One of the candidates for wine of the vintage, this beauty has a dense purple color to the rim and a classic, noble nose of graphite intermixed with black currant, spice box, licorice, and red and black fruits. Medium to fullbodied with exceptional precision and definition, this beautifully textured wine stands out as one of the most successful wines of this irregular vintage. A brilliant effort, it should be at its best between 2008 and 2020. (RP) 7901 Chateau Cos d'estournel Blanc 2005 0.75 2005 Saint-Estèphe $219.00 This beauty exhibits copious notes of figs, melons, and green apple skins intermixed with mango, lemon zest, and nectarines. The wood component is barely detectable in this medium-bodied, stylish white. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. (RP) PAGE 16
