Ahlstrom-Munksjö coffee solutions for Espresso & Drip coffee We offer two product lines: A single serve coffee filter range for espresso or drip coffee (classic and compostable) and a coffee packaging range (bag, lid and stick material). Our compostable range is made with Poly Lactic Acid (PLA), a renewable material which conforms to the EN13432 standard for biodegradability and compostability. Each range is tailor made to its application. What is Poly Lactic Acid (PLA)? PLA is a biopolymer derived completely from the sugars extracted from annually grown plants. Currently extracted exclusively from corn (maise), it can also be extracted from any starch-bearing agricultural product, including agricultural waste and non-food plants. FF Meets the food contact requirements for US FDA CFR 21, part 176.170 and EU regulation 1935 (2004). FF Renewable and sustainable. FF Biodegradable and compostable to EN13432 for end of life recovery through aerobic composting.
