Cucumber Tomato Pepper 2013 2014

the power of our cucumbers The long European cucumber is for years the appreciated standard in Scandinavia. The challenge for Enza Zaden is to add more and stronger resistances which can be seen with our new successful varieties like Imea, Toploader and Galaxy. Imea Imea broke the standards for quality production in the high-intensity artificial light crops. The non-aborting character means Imea should not be pushed for production. It offers by itself a high continues production without breaks and at the same time the head keeps on growing. The fruit length remains uniform, production is high and Imea stays in balance. The fruits never get too long (max. about 34 cm). The cucumbers are well filled until the end without being pointy. the power of our cucumbers the power of Enza Zaden Paul van Dijck Crop Sales Manager North West Europe Fruity Crops

the power of our tomatoes Energy costs and carbon foot print focus has lead to a lower input of energy in the start and in the end of the season than most varieties ask for. At Enza Zaden we have made this an action point in our breeding activities. In the spring 2013 trials we have clearly seen that the new variety E15M.40255 was able to handle the lower temperature input in the nurseries better compared to the standards. Tomaggio Taste is another main focus in the Enza Zaden breeding activities. During the annual Kom in de Kas event in 2013 in The Netherlands, more than 2.500 consumers were invited to participate in a blind tasting test. Over 70% of the participants had a clear preference for Tomaggio over the other truss cherry tomatoes.
