Our operating hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm. We look forward to helping you build your ultimate wine cellar room. These instructions do not cover every action in the DIY Wine Cellar Planner but cover most of the main functions and concepts to help you successfully and quickly design your wine cellar. Any concepts not covered in this document are extra items that will enhance your experience such as learning about the other Vigilant products on our website but are not required to use the application or finalize your design. The Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Our state-of-the-art 3D application will help you design your wine cellar today with our full line of kit wine cellar products that come in two heights; Classic (77.5"h) and Estate (92.5" h). You can also mix in Vigilant modular wine cabinets, half-height combos and table packages that we ve predesigned for you. They are connectable and easily integrate with our kit wine racking to achieve a high-quality, custom look to your wine cellar (See Figure 1). Figure 1: Vigilant modular cabinets, half-height and table packages are pre-stacked components in our DIY Wine Cellar Planner tool that add both aesthetic appeal and different wine storage options than using wine racking only. Figure 3 - Enter your DIY account email and password to log into the DIY Wine Cellar Planner. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 5 of 35

Step 2: Select Cellar Shape and Size Cellar Select Cellar Shape Selecting the shape of your wine cellar is the first step. You can select a pre-existing shape and change the dimensions, at a later step, to match your rooms exact size or choose to start from scratch and draw your own room shape. Once you have chosen a shape, select the Start New Project button to continue to the next step (See Figure 4). Figure 4 Select a pre-existing room shape or select Start from Scratch to continue to the next step. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 6 of 35

Enter Cellar Height Vigilant Inc. Enter your room ceiling height in inches between 79 and 157. Note that some cellar components may be excluded from your choices if your cellar height cannot accommodate them. Select the Save Ceiling Height button to continue to the next step (See Figure 5). Size Cellar Figure 5 Enter your room s ceiling height (in inches) and select the Save Ceiling Height button to continue to the next step. Personalize your cellar design with your wall lengths and corner points. Click or tap any wall or number to enter that wall length. The wall becomes active when it turns yellow. Enter your wall length, in inches, and press enter or tab to advance clockwise to the next wall. (See Figure 6). Figure 6 Change wall lengths and corner points to match your wine cellar room. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 7 of 35

Wall length - Wall and Points Click and drag a wall point (dark circle in the corners) to relocate it. You can select an entire wall to drag and move or just select and move a corner point. Wall Angles Select the Unlock Corners checkbox at the bottom right of the screen and then adjust the room angles by selecting, adding and removing wall points (See Figure 7). Figure 7 Unlock corner checkbox to move corner points in your design. Add/Delete a Wall Point To add a wall point, click the corner plus icon at the bottom left of the screen (See Figure 8). Next, click on the wall where you want to add a wall point. Finally, click that point and move it to change the shape of your room. To remove a wall point, simply select the corner minus icon at the bottom of the screen and click on the point you want removed (See Figure 9). Figure 8 Add corner point icon at bottom of screen. Figure 9 Remove corner point icon at bottom of screen. Once you re done changing wall points and lengths to match your wine cellar dimensions, advance to Step 3 by selecting the top menu icon Plan & Personalize 3 (See Figure 10). Figure 10 When done entering your wine cellar dimensions and shape continue to Step 3 Plan & Personalize. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 8 of 35

Step 3: Plan & Personalize Now comes the fun part, adding items to your wine cellar! We recommend starting by adding obstructions first, that are resizable placeholder items, to your wine cellar designs to help build your wine racking components around them (e.g. doors, windows, columns, etc.). This will save you time from moving items around to fit around each other. General Obstructions Usage Tips To place obstruction items on a wall, click and drag it to a wall until the wall turns yellow, then let go of the item. It will automatically snap into place. The DIY Wine Cellar Planner centers the first Obstruction and Racking items placed on each wall to help with exact center placements, so your first placed wall item will snap to center automatically. Once an item is placed or snapped, you can select it and move it around. Once an item is placed onto your wine room plan, you can select, move, copy, rotate, and delete it and view its product details, wood species, finish and lacquer options. Changing the wood species, finish and lacquer applies to all your wine racking components in your wine cellar plan. If you want to mix these selections simply instruct our designers of your desire when you submit your plan for review. We reduce wall dimensions by 1/2" for use of filler in case of plumb or dimension discrepancies. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 9 of 35

Adding Obstructions Vigilant Inc. To add an obstruction, click the Obstructions category on the left menu. It will open and list obstruction items. Current obstruction categories are Columns, Windows, Doors, Openings and Cooling Systems (See Figure 11). Figure 11 Click an obstruction category to see obstruction items. Select an obstruction item within a category and drag it into your wine cellar room, placing and moving it where it currently, or will, exist in your room (See Figure 12). Remember the first placed item, on each wall snaps to the center of the wall but can be moved after its been placed. Figure 12 Click and move/drag an obstruction item into your wine room plan. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 10 of 35

You can change the size of obstructions by clicking on it once it s placed on your wine room plan. Clicking on an item opens the Product Details menu on the right-hand side of your screen. Select the Change Size text, enter the dimensions of the obstruction and select the Set Size button to submit the dimension change (See Figure 13). Figure 13 Clicking an obstruction on your wine cellar plan opens the right menu allowing you to change the size of that obstruction. Types of Obstructions Columns Place columns into your design and resize them by double clicking each one and updating its size options in the right-hand menu. Windows Place windows into your design and resize them by double clicking each one and updating its options in the right-hand menu. Please be aware when you resize your windows you will need to enter a casing size as a separate dimension. Doors When adding a door leave enough room for your door and casings (trim around the outside). Be sure that if your door swings into the cellar, there is enough clearance for the door swing. When adding space for a door and sidelights, make sure that there is 13.5 inches of wall space to the right and left of the door/sidelights to account for the depth of wine racks. If you do not have 13.5 inches, you will want to stop your run of racking 12-18 inches from the door wall. Openings Place openings into your design and resize them by double clicking each and adjust its dimensions to fit your opening sizes in the right-hand menu. Cooling Systems Cooling systems are here for placement purposes. They can only be placed on a wall and typically would be installed either above or inside racking. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 11 of 35

o Due to the complexity of cooling systems you should contact us with questions or add questions when submitting a design within the DIY Wine Cellar Planner. o Wine racks will need to be scribed around the cooling system by an installer if placed inside racks. o Cooling systems cannot be placed in bins or void corners. o Typically, you only need one cooling system in a wine room. We sell a variety of cooling systems and wine cellar doors on our website. Be sure to visit vigilantinc.com to view our product options and pricing. Feel free to contact our wine cellar design experts for help picking out the right system and wine cellar door for your wine room. Racking After you ve added all your wine cellar obstructions, you can add Vigilant wine racking components. Select the Racking option on the left-hand menu. You will see two categories: Classic 77.5 h and Estate 92.5 h (See Figure 14). Select the racking option that best fits your wine cellar height. Figure 14 Click a Racking category to see the racking items. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 12 of 35

There are seven subcategories of racking you can choose from: Corner Racks, Individual Racks, Bins & Cases, Arch Tops, Half-Height Combos, Cabinet Packages, and Tables (See Figure 15). Figure 15 Racking sub-categories: Corner Racks, Individual Racks, Bins & Cases, Arch Tops, Half-Height Combos, Cabinet Packages and Tables General Racking Usage Tips To place items on a wall, click and drag it to a wall until the wall turns yellow, then let go of the item. It will automatically snap into place. Wine Rack Symbol Color - We have made it easy to identify which rack height you are using in your cellar design. Classic - 77.5" h is shown in light gray and Estate - 92.5" h shown in dark gray. You will only have access to Estate height racking components if your cellar ceiling is 92.5" or greater. The DIY Wine Cellar Planner centers the first item placed on each wall to help with exact center placements, so your fist placed item on each wall will snap to center automatically. Once an item is placed or snapped, you can select it and move it around. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 13 of 35

Adding Racking Vigilant Inc. To add racking components, click the Racking category on the left menu. Select the racking items from either the Classic 77.5 h or Estate 92.5 h categories based on your wine cellar height. Drag the racking item onto your wine cellar design, placing and moving it to the location you want in your room (See Figure 16). Remember the first placed item, on each wall snaps to the center of the wall but you can move it after its been placed. Figure 16 Click and move/drag racking components into your wine room plan. Movement of Placed Racking Items Once you place a racking item onto the wine cellar plan you can rotate, delete or duplicate it for faster placements (See Figure 17). Rotate Left Click or tap to rotate the selected item left 10 degrees at a time. Delete Click the delete icon to remove the item from your wine cellar plan. You can click the black undo arrow button on the top menu to put the item back into the design. Copy Duplicates an item and places it in the next available open space, starting on the right side. Rotate Right Click or tap to rotate the selected item right 10 degrees at a time. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 14 of 35

Types of Racking Figure 17 Racking Item Icons Rotate left, Delete, Copy, Rotate Right. Corner Racks Wine racks designed specifically to fill the corners of your wine cellar room. There are three choices: Segmented, Curved and Void Corners. o If you don t want a corner rack, use the Void Corner graphic to fill the space and ensure your abutting racks align properly. o If you are only designing racks on one wall, no voided corner is needed. Individual Racks - Our top-grade Mahogany and Clear Northern Pine wine racks are the industry's best and offer the most extensive assortment of DIY racks for home wine cellars and retail wine stores. Our kit racks are available in two heights (Classic 77.5 h and Estate 92.5 h) and blend seamlessly with other Vigilant wine racking components. o You can add LED lighting to your racks and enhance the display of the bottles in the high-reveal rows. o The wine racks used in our DIY Wine Cellar Planner are kit racks and require selfassembly. o If there is something you would like that you don't see, or you want to add a custom feature please call us to work with one of our design experts 1(866) 756-5276. Bins & Cases Bins and cases are wall displays that provide an attractive way to store bulk wine or display decorative or important pieces in your wine cellar. They readily mix and match with our wine racks and cabinets and make it easy to be creative with your wine cellar design. o Quarter round components come in two directions, one will end a series of wine racks to the left and the other will end racking to the right. o Do not put quarter round shelves in a corner. They are decorative and are used to close off open ended racking and will not fill the space between two walls of racks. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 15 of 35

Arch Tops Arched decorative components are functional and add beautiful focal points to your wine cellar or a place to decant your wine. Add lighting to arch tops to create a dramatic display affect in your wine room. Half-Height Combos All our half-height wine racks are stacked combinations of our base and top wine racks making it easier for you to add to your wine cellar design. Cabinet Packages Our wine display cabinet packages feature some of our favorite standard options: soffit arches, storage bins, diamond bins, stemware wine racks, shelving and accent lighting. We take the guess work out of building these beautiful displays. LED lights are included in the arches and you will be allowed to add lighting to the cabinets of each modular package in your design. Tables Wine tables combine our base wine racks with tabletops, conversion boxes and stemware to offer additional wine storage and space for wine tasting, decanting and storage or display. Custom Options Don t see exactly what you are looking for in our DIY Wine Cellar Planner? No problem, we can accommodate any custom request. Call our design experts today to discuss your needs or submit your design with questions and custom requests. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 16 of 35

Hide Wall ID Checking this box will either hide or show the wall ID numbers on your wine cellar design plan. After you have completed adding all the racking components onto your design plan, continue by selecting Step 4 Review & Submit on the menu at the top of your screen. Step 4: Review & Submit Your Design Automated Calculation Popup Windows Once you select the Step 4 Review & Submit button at the top of the screen you will be presented with a few pop-up windows to help you decide whether to add lighting, trim and filler to your wine cellar design Price Estimate. Start Calculations The first popup window explains the activities you can complete on the Review & Submit section (See Figure 27). By selecting the Got it, let s go button you re triggering the application to process calculations based on the components you ve added to your design. This process could take a few moments so please be patient. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 21 of 35

NOTE: If you select the Review & Submit menu multiple times it will reinitiate the calculation process from the beginning making the popup occur multiple times. Please click it once and wait for further instructions. Figure 27 Ready to look at your Price Estimate and Submit Your Design? Click the Got it, let s go! button. Add Trim and Filler The second popup window you will be presented with is our Trim and Filler popup (See Figure 28). We give you the option of adding both trim/molding and filler into your wine cellar estimate. o The Trim/Molding section of this popup window allows you to choose either Top and Base Molding, Crown and Base Molding, Base Molding or No Molding. We have already figured out the recommended number of trim/molding pieces for your design. It is determined by the linear feet of the facing of the wine racking in your wine cellar design. NOTE: If you have tables or cascade racks in your design, you may want to add additional trim to account for all sides of these items. o You can adjust the number of pieces of trim by manually entering in the number you want. Or if you don t want to include trim in your wine cellar estimate simply click the No Molding needed button. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 22 of 35

The Filler section of the popup window is at the bottom of the popup window and allows you to choose to include or exclude the filler in the pricing estimate. o We add one filler strip for each wall that has wine racking on it. You can adjust the filler strips to whatever quantity you want. If you don t want to include filler strips in your wine cellar estimate simple click the No Filler Strips Needed button. You can also click the X icon at the top right corner of the popup to bypass selections and all trim and filler will be excluded from your wine cellar design Pricing Estimate (See Figure 28). Figure 28 Add Trim and Filler calculation popup window, the first of multiple calculation popups. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 23 of 35

Add Lighting Individual Racks The next popup window you will see is the Add Lighting Individual Wine Racks calculation (See Figure 29). We ve automated the calculation of light kits you will need for your wine cellar based on the number of columns of racks in your design. However, you can adjust the number of lighting kits, or if you don t want any light kits included in your pricing estimate you can either 1) add zero to the 3, 6 or 12 Bulb LED lighting fields or 2) select the X icon at the top right corner of the popup. Also, rest assured, our design experts review all DIY submissions for accuracy and will notify you if the racking configuration in your design requires different lighting combinations. Figure 29 Add Lighting - Individual Wine Racks popup, the second of multiple calculation popups. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 24 of 35

Add Lighting Arches If your wine cellar design contains arches, you will be presented with another popup window for you to select if you want to add lighting to each arch (See Figure 30). You can either Select All to add lighting to all the arches in your design, select the images of only the arches you want to add lighting to (represented by a green check box when you select the arch image), or Select None to not add lighting to any of the arches in your wine cellar design. Figure 30 Add Lighting - Arches in your wine cellar design, the third of multiple calculation popups. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 25 of 35

Add Lighting Modular Packages If your wine cellar design contains modular packages, you will be presented with a final popup window for you to select whether to add lighting to the cabinets of each modular package in your design (See Figure 31). The lighting in the arches are included in the package. o You can either Select All to add lighting to all the modular packages in your design, select the images of only the modular packages you want to add lighting to (represented by a green check box when you select the modular package image), or Select None to not add lighting to any of the modular packages in your wine cellar design. Figure 31 Add Lighting - Modular Packages to the cabinets of each modular package in your design, the fourth of multiple calculation popups. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 26 of 35

Shopping List/Price Estimate Once you ve finished your selections from the popup windows, the trim, filler and lighting quantities you chose will be added to the Shopping List/Price Estimate and you will be presented with an itemized list and pricing estimate page detailing key information like dimensions, bottle capacity, unit price, shipping, total unit price and the grand total of all the components of your wine cellar design (See Figure 32). Figure 32 The Shopping List/Price Estimate of all the components in your DIY Wine Cellar Design. Vigilant DIY Wine Cellar Planner Instructions v1_2019 27 of 35

Project Details This screen provides a summary of your wine racks, budget details, area dimensions and snapshots of your wine cellar design (See Figure 33). Figure 33 Project Details summary screen. Save Cellar Project Click this button to save your project for later access or sharing. Add a project name in the text field of the popup window and select the checkbox I want to receive newsletters if you want to receive Vigilant product news and promotional emails (See Figure 34).
