BURGUNDY 2016 October 11, 2012 Burgundy 2016 Domaines F - L See date & place of tasting in italics Growers / Wineries are in alphabetical order with area underneath Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard Savigny-lès-Beaune Bourgogne Chardonnay Monopole Combe d Orange 88 2017-21 The nose has white flowers and acacia the start of the palate light and fresh with crisp apples. There is mid sweetness but the citrusy freshness is very dominant at the back the finish is quite light and lean. Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles 88 2017-21 The nose has a floral fragrant charm fresh and citrusy. The palate is light and fresh with minerals and crisp apple. A hint of sweetness at the back the finish is light, lean and fresh fruited. Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Frétilles 90 2018-22 Floral, fresh the nose has white flowers and apple the palate is bright with fresh fruit a hint of mineral. There is an underlying sweetness but it is the freshness that dominates the back palate the finish has fragrance and fresh fruit. Savigny-lès-Beaune 90 2018-22 The nose is light and fresh citrusy the palate bright with a mix of apple and lime. Sweet ripe greengage in the middle gives more depth pineapple at the back richness with fresh fruits coming through brightening the finish. October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2016 Mâcon Pierreclos Tri de Chavigne 94 2019-25 The fruit is ripe the nose has richness depth the palate is creamy buttery with pineapple and pears. Mid freshness the rich fruit is underpinned by apple the back palate has lime and flint but it fills out on the finish with a rich mix of fruits. Mâcon Pierreclos Juliette et les Vieilles 93 2018-25 Lemon fresh the nose is bright the start of the palate mineral driven. There is mid sweetness apricot and nectarine depth of fruit at the back the finish lighter with flinty mineral freshness. Saint-Véran Cuvée Unique 95 2019-25 Rich and ripe the nose has depth of fruit the palate ripe melon and greengage. The sweetness of the fruit fills the mid palate but there is underlying freshness lime and apple balance the back palate is leaner bright the finish though has depth a rich mix of flavours. Pouilly-Fuissé CC 93 2019-25 Mineral freshness the nose is bright the start of the palate has flinty crispness There is mid sweetness the richness of melon and ripe greengage creamy depth of flavour. Fresher at the back a mineral and citrus mix the finish is racy, fragrant and long. Pouilly-Fuissé Tri des Hautes des Vignes 94 2019-25 The nose is light fragrant with white flowers the palate rich with depth of flavour a ripe mix of tropical fruits and white peach. Racy and fresh at the back the finish has length flinty and citrusy. Domaine Vincent et François Jouard Chassagne-Montrachet Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 88 2018-22 The nose has herbal earthiness the start of the palate light and firm. Sweeter in the middle but crisp apple dominates the back palate and the finish lacks a little generosity. Domaine Louis Robin Chablis Chablis 89 2017-21 Tasted in Lincoln s Inn September 2017 The nose is fresh the fruit on the palate has the sweetness of ripe greengages. There is balance an underlying freshness mineral and citrus the finish is bright with fresh fruits flinty length. Domaine Roger Luquet Fuissé Mâcon Villages Les Mulots 89 2017-21 Tasted in the Carlton Club September 2017 The nose is nutty and fresh the start of the palate has crisp apple. Sweeter in the middle the mix of greengage and melon is rich and ripe. The back palate has fresh fruit grapefruit and lime but it finishes quite fleshy.
