Taste of the Gardens Alcohol Policies September 2013 The Michigan Liquor Control Commission regulates the service and sale of alcoholic beverages. As a licensee, Meijer Gardens is responsible for the administration of these regulations; therefore alcohol may not be brought in or taken out of the facility (this includes alcohol as a gift). All Alcohol Agreements must be signed and received by Meijer Gardens 30 days prior to the event or alcohol selection and staffing cannot be guaranteed. Alcohol service is available during room rental time and will be open for a minimum of three hours. All alcohol services will cease 30 minutes prior to your confirmed rental time. Only events with complete food service appropriate to the confirmed rental time i.e. breakfast, lunch, dinner or comparable hors d oeuvres will be offered alcohol for their events Bars, stations or passed service for up to 75 guests will include one (1) uniformed service person. Larger parties will require additional staff and labor charges depending on guest count and services desired. See Taste of the Gardens Alcohol Staffing Guide. Draft Beer is an option for the Grand Room only. Draft beer must be accompanied by two other bar menu selections. Bars will be stocked with mixers, assorted soda or soft drinks, juices and garnishes. Arrangements can be made for special orderproduct with a two week notice prior to event. Alcohol will only be provided to persons 21 years of age or older with a valid government issued ID. Meijer Gardens reserves the right to request valid government issued picture identification for service of alcohol to any guest. Meijer Gardens reserves the right to refuse entry should any attendee arrive intoxicated or in possession of alcohol not purchased at Meijer Gardens. Meijer Gardens may refuse service of alcoholic beverages at any time to anyone. Alcohol products or glasses may not be handled by anyone under 21 years of age. Meijer Gardens enforces a zero tolerance for minors consuming alcohol. Minors are the responsibility of the client signing the Alcohol Agreement. Lessee must be 21 years of age or older to sign a Alcohol Agreement. Meijer Gardens solely reserves the right to discontinue alcoholic service and end your event due to liquor laws and or Meijer Gardens policies being violated. Should this event be discontinued as a result of violations, the lessee jointly and severally agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Meijer Gardens, its officers, agents, directors, employees and volunteers against any and all loss, damages, claim or liability whether from personal injury or property damages caused by or arising from the actions of the applicant, its guests and invitees. If the event is discontinued for any reason no refunds will be issued. The Lessee must guarantee the alcohol payment with a valid credit card number (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) or corporate check upon signing the Alcohol Agreement. All balances incurred for alcohol service must be paid the day/evening of the event. Meijer Gardens does not accept personal checks. Payments may be made by cash, corporate check, debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express). All bars must achieve $500.00 in sales, exclusive of tax and surcharges, or $100.00 staffing fee will apply. Tableside wine, stations, or passed wine will be charged by the bottle charge plus 20% surcharge and 6% Michigan Sales Tax. All staff charges will be based on final guest count and service types. Multiple Service types are available but will require additional staffing fees. See Taste of the Gardens Alcohol Staffing Guide. All products will be subject to 20% surcharge and 6% sales tax.
