BORGOGNO IS ONE OF THE OLDEST WINERIES OF ITALY. IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1761 BY BARTOLOMEO BORGOGNO, RIGHT IN THE VILLAGE OF BAROLO. 17 18

THE ORIGIN OF THE MIRAFIORE WINERY IS A LOVE STORY BETWEEN THE KING OF ITALY VITTORIO EMANUELE II AND THE PEASANT ROSA VERCELLANA AT THE HEART OF THE BAROLO AREA. THE ESTATE HAD BEEN DONATED BY THE KING HIMSLELF TO HIS ILLEGITIMATE SON EMANUELE DI MIRAFIORE. 21 22

THE CORDERO DI MONTEZEMOLO FAMILY HAS DEEP ROOTS IN THE HISTORY OF PIEMONTE. SINCE 1340, 19 GENERATIONS HAVE MANAGED THE MONFALLETTO PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF LA MORRA, THE CENTER OF THE BAROLO WINE DISTRICT.

CANTINA ANSELMI IS A FAMILY BUSINESS LOCATED IN MONTEFORTE D ALPONE, IN THE PROVINCE OF VERONA. THE OWNER ROBERTO ANSELMI DECIDED TO GO BACK TO THE FAMILY BUSINESS IN 1975. HE HAD A DREAM: TO REPURCHASE THOSE VINEYARDS THAT HIS GRANDFATHER HAD CULTIVATED FOR 25 YEARS AND LOST IN 1945 BECAUSE OF WORLD WAR II. 57 58

Today, Anselmi cultivates 70 hectares of vineyards, more than half of them owned by the family The vineyards are planted in the traditional Soave areas: Monteforte, Soave, Foscarino and Zoppega on high hills exposed to south Calcareous volcanic soil, rich in limestone Garganega is the main grape variety cultivated, along with some aromatic vines Great importance is given to viticulture here: the Guyot cultivation method has substituted the traditional pergola, to lower yields.
