French and Cooking course The aim of the French and Cooking Course is to learn the French language and live at the heart of the French culture and heritage. Discover the secrets of French Chefs and become an expert of French cooking. -3-
French language and cooking Description Intensive course + cooking workshops at a professional school. DESCRIPTION In the morning, French Intensive course (23 lessons per week in group), students will deepen their competence in all four skill areas of French language. In the French cooking workshops(2.30 hours per week), students will learn how to interpret French recipes in preparing classic and creative dishes à la Française, handson with a professional French chef. At the end of each cooking course, students will sample the meal they have prepared in a convivial setting. PROFESSIONAL FRENCH COOKING COURSE All French cooking courses presented below include: all ingredients, detailed recipes with an explanation of the vocabulary, and the step-by-step preparation of a meal guided by a professional French chef. -4-
French language and cooking Prices PRICES: + Registration fee = 65 Euros 2 weeks - intensive course + 5 hours of cooking workshops = 795 Euros 3 weeks - intensive course + 7.30 hours of cooking workshops = 1150 Euros 4 weeks - intensive course + 10 hours of cooking workshops = 1510 Euros The schedule of the different workshops is given at the time of registration according to the dates and the number of hours. Options: 3 weeks - intensive course + 4.30 hours of cooking workshops = 895 Euros 4 weeks - intensive course + 6 hours of cooking workshops = 1170 Euros Intensive course + 1 cooking workshop of 1 hour 30 per week. - NB: No cooking workshop available in August -5-
French language and cooking Cooking programme The option «French class and cooking» will offer you: Cooking classes taught by a professional chef in a big workshop in the center of Toulouse (and not far from the school Langue Onze ), A cooking instruction in French which takes place in a friendly atmosphere, in small groups which gather both French people and foreigners, A wide range of modern and original recipes. A fortnight before your arrival, we will send you the courses which will be available during your stay in Toulouse, and you will choose the courses which appeal to you. French language and cooking Typical recipes FRENCH SOUTHWEST FOIE GRAS Jewel of the French gastronomy, the recipes of foie gras are an integral part of the culinary and cultural heritage of the region of Southwest. We consume it traditionally cold in entrance, it is also possible to consume it warmly, or as ingredient of a more elaborated recipe. DUCK RECIPES The duck is a specialty of the region of Southwest and you will not find a restaurant which does not propose it to its menu! Whether it is the famous duck confit, the feet packages, the duck breast in the green pepper, the garbure (cabbage soup), discover the recipes of duck of the Southwest which our Chefs propose you! SALADS AND REFINED SLICES OF BREAD Southwest is a region rich in local products which offers a large variety of recipes. Salads as salade landaise or salade périgourdine are very renowned in this region. FRENCH SOUTHWEST DESSERTS Southwest is a region rich in local products which offers a big variety of recipes. Description Intensive course + oenology workshop in a professional wine cellar To learn French and enjoy a unique experience of the French Southwest Wines, add a weekly eveningworkshop, to your intensive course DESCRIPTION In the morning French Intensive course (23 group lessons of 45 minutes per week), you will deepen your knowledge in all four skill areas of French language. With professional French oenology workshops, offered oncea week(1 workshop = 3 lessons of 45 minutes), you will discover and learn how to appreciate the French wines, including Southwest French wines,learn about your own taste through the wine and food pairing discovery and all of this while learning and practicing French! Enjoy an entertaining and convivial learning experience, giving priority to communication, action, interactivity, and pleasure a very sweet way to learn French! -9-
FRENCH OENOLOGY WORKSHOPS Wine tastings(1 ½ to 2 hoursdepending on the topic): themes varying all weeks Special and very complete weekly workshopsthat will lead you to discover and taste French wines, learn about the importance of wine in the French culture and learn how to combine wine and food! Thanks to a professional advice and through different wine tastings, you will learn a lot about wine but not only! Indeed, all along the tasting you will also learn and practice French, discovering the world of the wine and its vocabulary, talking about the different steps of the wine tasting: look, smell and savour various wines, learning how to describe a color, a taste, a texture, how to express your taste and preferences Through real action, tasting wine and pairing it with different local dishes, you will really progress in French in a funny and interactive way and experience a real initiation into oenology. After this, you will probably be able to talk with a sommelier in a French restaurant, to choose your own wine and also pair it with the right food to appreciate it even more! - 10 -
