FOOD PANCAKE PANTRY If you re willing to brave the long lines, it s got a reputation for being Nashville s best pancake. The sweet potato pancakes are insane. NEIGHBORHOOD: Hillsboro Village DESANO PIZZA Best pizza in Nashville. The dough is imported from Italy! BAKERSFIELD TACOS Fun and delicious Mexican food restaurant downtown. TAQUERIA DEL SOL Taqueria del Sol is truly one of a kind, juxtaposing the quality of fine dining ingredients against fast-casual prices, and offering authentic Southwestern selections as well as a variety of Southern-inspired menu choices NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South and West Nashville EDLEY S BBQ Good ole Tennessee BBQ and country sides NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South HATTIE B S HOT CHICKEN Classic Nashville staple, and the best hot chicken in town! Be prepared for a line out the door if you go during peak hours. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill BAJA BURRITO Best burrito in Nashville. This is one of Nashville s best hidden gems, and we are all obsessed. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill 4
PFUNKY GRIDDLE A fun breakfast/brunch dining experience where you make your own pancakes at a griddle in the middle of your table. A small, eclectic place to try something new. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill SUNFLOWER CAFE This vegan/vegetarian restaurant is the place to go if you want a healthy meal in the midst of all your hot chicken and BBQ. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill ROLF & DAUGHTERS (Rated #3 best restaurant in the nation.) Industrial-chic restaurant with clever New American dishes, communal tables & inventive food. (Note: This is a more expensive restaurant check the website for pricing) NEIGHBORHOOD: Germantown THE PHARMACY Best burger in Nashville. GREAT patio if the weather is cooperative. Yum! NEIGHBORHOOD: East Nashville LOVELESS CAFE You d be hard pressed to find a better biscuit and jam in Nashville. There will probably be a short wait, but there are cute little shops on the property to pass the time. It s a Nashville staple and has been featured on tons of foodie shows. If there happens to be a long wait, you could check out the Natchez Trace Parkway. It s a really pretty backroad through gorgeous countryside. NEIGHBORHOOD: West Nashville COCO S ITALIAN MARKET AND RESTAURANT Don t think twice. Just do it. The bruschetta is amazing and you can t go wrong with any of the pastas where they mix marinara and alfredo sauce together. Mmm. NEIGHBORHOOD: West Nashville 5
KAYNE PRIME Best steakhouse in the South- very pricey but worth it for a special occasion. NEIGHBORHOOD: The Gulch PUCKETT S It s a Nashville staple that has been around for years. There are a few locations, but the original is in Leiper s Fork. It s a restaurant/ grocery store with live music, typically bluegrass. It s a fun place and not expensive! NEIGHBORHOOD: Leiper s Fork; Franklin; Downtown VUI S KITCHEN A delicious Vietnamese stop for pho, banh mi & noodle bowls. Has both indoor/outdoor seating. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill and Germantown PLAZA MARIACHI This cultural experience offers a unique blend of culture, art, music, entertainment, food, services and retail in one location. Check their website for special events like salsa dancing on certain nights. NEIGHBORHOOD: Nolensville Pike COFFEE CREMA One of Nashville s more famous coffee shops. Delicious coffee and beautiful views of downtown. Great patio. SUMP A newer coffee shop that has taken Nashville by storm. They are one of the lightest roasting coffee shops in North America, which makes for a unique and wonderful coffee drinking experience. NEIGHBORHOOD: West Nashville 6
FIDO A Bongo Java coffee shop. Great atmosphere, and good food and bakery options if you need a bite to eat with your coffee. NEIGHBORHOOD: Hillsboro Village FROTHY MONKEY A local fav, they have a great cup of coffee however you like it. Great outdoor seating as well, and a good breakfast and lunch if you are hungry. NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South DESSERT 5 DAUGHTERS BAKERY Best donut in Nashville! They are famous for their large-and-incharge 100 Layer Donuts. Mad props if you can finish a whole one. NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South and East Nashville JENI S ICE CREAM A little bit pricey, but oh, so good! They are known for their really weird flavors. The Buckeye (peanut butter and chocolate) is delicious! NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South, East Nashville, Brentwood BAKED ON 8TH The best chocolate chip cookie you ll ever have in your life. And every other kind of baked goodness you can think of. Sorry for the 5 lbs you may gain NEIGHBORHOOD: The Gulch THE SODA PARLOR Specialty floats and such. Free arcade games. Fun place to hang out. NEIGHBORHOOD: East Nashville 7
FUN TOP GOLF This high-tech driving range offers fun for novice and avid golfers alike, and has a multitude of games to play at their multilevel range. They also offer a great selection of food if you want to grab dinner while you play! MUSIC CITY INDOOR KARTING For the fastest fun in Nashville, check out their electric go-karts that will carry speeds up to 40 mph, on a 1/4 mile indoor racing track. This 77,000 sq ft facility also offers 18 holes of mini golf! WILD HORSE SALOON Fun place to line dance and check out the Honky Tonk scene. They give free line dance lessons before the band plays. It s technically a bar, but things don t get crazy here. https://wildhorsesaloon.com/entertainment OPRYLAND HOTEL If you want a fun, free option, walk around the inside of the hotel. There are gardens, elaborate decorations, walking trails, huge rooms, etc. It sounds crazy to walk around a hotel, but I assure you it s a thing. NEIGHBORHOOD: East Nashville THE THOMPSON HOTEL Go upstairs to the LA Jackson for an amazing view of the city. NEIGHBORHOOD: The Gulch SOAR ADVENTURE TOWER GREAT FOR GROUPS, this recreation facility hosts a 4-level structure and ropes course with over 110 climbing elements for adults & kids, plus an 18-hole mini-golf course. THE ESCAPE GAME ANOTHER FUN GROUP ACTIVITY, The Escape Game is a live 60-minute adventure. You and your team will select a challenge and will have one hour to complete your mission and escape. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill and Downtown LIVE MUSIC (Be sure to check the schedule/website for all of these places. We d hate for you to show up on an off night where no one is playing) THE LISTENING ROOM CAFE A lot of local singer-songwriters perform here, and it s a fun, intimate setting to hear music. The food is also tasty as well. BLUEBIRD CAFE One of Nashville s most famous live music venues. (Be sure to check the times. It s first come first serve, and you have to get there early. Once the music starts, they shut the doors and don t allow anyone in) http://bluebirdcafe.com/faq NEIGHBORHOOD: Green Hills CAFE COCO Quirky coffee shop that has live music. Small venue but you ll find amazing talent playing here. NEIGHBORHOOD: West End THE RYMAN Known as the mother church of Nashville, this famous music venue downtown is an excellent spot to catch a concert. You can also go for daily tours or check out biweekly live radio shows featuring classic and new country acts. NEIGHBORHOOD: East Nashville 9
ASCEND AMPHITHEATER Nashville s premier amphitheater has a wide array of concerts offered in their downtown outdoor space. It got voted amphitheater of the year in 2016, and lives up to the hype. THE GREAT OUTDOORS EDWIN WARNER/PERCY WARNER PARK Two separate parks that connect via trails. You wouldn t know if you went from one to the other, so it makes for a big park! Lots of trails (flat and hills). Really nice hiking! Flat trails are available too! NEIGHBORHOOD: West Nashville RADNOR LAKE Beautiful park within the city that makes you feel 100 miles away from the city. NEIGHBORHOOD: Brentwood NASHVILLE ZOO A great way to spend an afternoon, the Nashville zoo hosts a wide variety of animals and activities. NEIGHBORHOOD: Nolensville Pike CHEEKWOOD ESTATE AND GARDENS: Once a private estate built in 1929, now an art museum and quaint, 55 -acre botanical garden. NEIGHBORHOOD: West Nashville PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE: 3,150 ft. pedestrian-only truss bridge over the Cumberland River that offers beautiful views of downtown. 10
CENTENNIAL PARK AND THE PARTHENON Beautiful place to walk around and have a picnic in town. The Parthenon is a full-sized replica of the Greek Parthenon, which is an art museum on the inside. NEIGHBORHOOD: West End BIKE THE GREENWAYS AND CITY There are 80 miles of off-street (primarily paved) multi-use greenway trails and various other types of trails within parks in Davidson County for walking, hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use. One of the best ways to see the city is rent a bike from B-Cycle and ride the greenways or city streets! MALLS OPRY MILLS The former site of the theme park Opryland, Opry Mills is home to Tennessee s largest outlet, value retail, shopping, dining and entertainment destination. NEIGHBORHOOD: East Nashville COOL SPRINGS GALLERIA Classic mall with tons of shopping options. NEIGHBORHOOD: Franklin GREEN HILLS MALL A smaller and more upscale mall. NEIGHBORHOOD: Green Hills 11
THE TOURIST THING BROADWAY STREET A Nashville must, but you ll probably only want to do it once. Walk up and down Broadway and 2nd Avenue, and enter any of the Honky Tonks at your own risk. 12 SOUTH This is a fun place to walk around. There are cute little boutiques and some great photo ops, like the TN flag mural that is fun to take pictures in front of. NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South DOWNTOWN FRANKLIN It s been voted best small town in Tennessee, but unfortunately, it s not so small anymore. Tons of cute boutiques and shops around. Local restaurants galore. It s fun to park and walk around. NEIGHBORHOOD: Frankin COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME The name says it all. Check it out if you love country music, otherwise it s probably skip-able to see one of Dolly Parton s old dresses. ARRINGTON VINEYARDS Gorgeous views and countryside. If you end up going here, you ve got to stop at The Faded Farmhouse and Linen and Rust (little antique stores in the middle of nowhere but close to Arrington Vineyards). NEIGHBORHOOD: 30 min outside of Nashville 12
HISTORIC THE HERMITAGE Walk through Andrew Jackson s life and home, explore a beautiful, vintage Tennessee farm, and experience an important piece of Nashville and our nation. Rated the third best Presidential Site in the nation by USA TODAY, this is a must-see for any visitor to Music City! NEIGHBORHOOD: Hermitage BELLE MEADE PLANTATION: Belle Meade Plantation is a historic mansion that is now operated as a museum, together with outbuildings on its 30 acres of property. NEIGHBORHOOD: West Nashville KIDS ADVENTURE SCIENCE CENTER Multi level museum that teaches children about tech, health, and ecology with hands on exhibits and a planetarium. SEVIER PARK A cute, small park in 12 South with an amazing playground and ample space to play and roam. NEIGHBORHOOD: 12 South SPLASH PAD If you are visiting during the summer, visit one of Nashville s multiple spraygrounds. These splash pads are free of charge and a huge hit with kids. One of our favorites is at Cumberland Park, right by Nissan Stadium. 13
SHELBY BOTTOMS NATURE CENTER The nature center is the perfect place for kids to get outside and explore. The center features a dirt playground (be sure to bring a change of clothes). This area has dirt tunnels, waterways, mudpies all for your kids imaginations to run wild. There is also a sand area to uncover fossils and a natural hut to explore as well. Bonus: It s fenced in to help keep the little ones close! NEIGHBORHOOD: East Nashville SPORTS Depending on the season, we have some incredible teams, stadiums, and atmospheres to catch a game at. If you re not a fan already, we re pretty sure attending a game will make you one. NASHVILLE PREDATORS Our hometown hockey team plays from October to (hopefully) June in Bridgestone Arena. We ve been voted the loudest stadium in the NHL, and it s truly an experience unlike any other. If you re lucky you might even see a catfish being thrown onto the ice. TENNESSEE TITANS: If you are visiting during the Fall and happen to be here while the Titans are at home, check out our hometown NFL team at Nissan Stadium. 14
NASHVILLE SOUNDS: Our Texas Rangers triple-a affiliate baseball team just got a brand new stadium in 2015, and games there are fun for the whole family. Sit in a chair, or opt for grass seats in the outfield- there s not a bad seat in the house! NEIGHBORHOOD: Germantown NASHVILLE SC: Nashville s new soccer club made it s debut in the United Soccer league in 2018, and soon after transitioned to a MLS team. The action-packed games are a blast to watch, and the fans themselves are worth the price of admission. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berry Hill So what is ONWARD?
