ISLAY Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut. - Ernest Hemingway Often called the 'Whisky Island' due to only eight distilleries there. The island produces very distinct malts, generally heavily peated and smoky in flavour. 23 31 3 45 53 5 54 Bowmore yr old Ardbeg yr old Laphroaig yr old Ardbeg Uigeadail Bowmore 18 yr old Lagavulin yr old Octomore Virgin Oak 7.3 Laphroaig yr old 20.5 3 75 LOWLANDS Whiskies from the Lowlands tend to be soft and mild in character. With this in mind the whiskies can range from dry to sweet, some even having a touch of smoke and peat, overall however they are thought to have more of a kick. O God, that men should put an enemy in their mouths to steal away their brains! That we should, with joy, pleasance, revel, and applause, transform ourselves into beasts! - William Shakespeare, Othello Speyside Technically Speyside lies within the Highland region. irish Most Irish pot still whiskey is distilled three times, while most (but not all) Scotch whisky, is distilled twice. Peat is rarely used in the malting process, so often Irish whiskey can have a smoother finish as opposed to the smoky, earthy overtones common to some Scotches. 5 3 62 5 76 77 78 3 Bushmills yr old Tullamore Dew Jameson Irish Whiskey Jameson Redbreast yr old whiskey Jameson Black Barrell Tullamore Dew yr old Jameson Irish Whisky Small Batch Select Jameson Irish Whisky Gold Reserve Bushmills Blackbush 22 rye Rye whiskey is either American whiskey, which must be made of at least 51% rye, or Canadian whiskey, which due to history must be called rye whiskey, and which may or may not contain any rye! I feel sorry for people who don t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that s as good as they re going to feel all day. - Frank Sinatra BOURBON Bourbon whiskey is a type of American whiskey: a barrel-aged distilled spirit made primarily from corn. Although the name Bourbon was applied in the 1850s, and the true Kentucky etymology was advanced by the 1870s, the invention or origin of bourbon is to date somewhat of a myth with varying stories.. from the invention by a pioneering Baptist minister and distiller named Elijah Craig, to it being named after Bourbon St in New Orleans, where the Tarascon bros very successfully sold their shipments of Kentucky whiskey as a cheaper alternative to French cognac. One thing we do know; we love to drink it. 00 0 1 72 70 68 75 27 88 4 73 74 0 Jack Daniel s Old 7 Wild Turkey Bourbon Makers Mark Old Forester Bourbon Buffalo Trace Bourbon Bakers 7 yr old Bourbon Jack Daniel's Frank Sinatra Select Ltd Elijah Craig Bourbon Wild Turkey Rare Breed Jack Daniel s Single Barrell Jim Beam Signature Craft yr old Woodford Reserve Double Wood Booker Noe s Single Barrel Bourbon Bernheim Wheat Whisky Eagle Rare yr old 2 1
