Composition of the Evaluation Committees The guarantor of the competition is prof. Ing. Fedor Malík, DrSc, the President of the expert jury. Competition samples are assessed by five-member expert committees, which are composed of highly recognized foreign and domestic wine tasters. The prerequisite for the participation of Czech tasters is their valid SZPI (Czech State Agricultural and Food Inspectorate) sensory qualification or tasting qualification according to the European ISO and DIN standards. The evaluation of the competition samples is overlooked by a non-evaluating professional three-member jury consisting of the president, the director and the oenologist of the competition. The President of the expert jury, in cooperation with the director and the oenologist of the competition, arbitrates possible ambiguities in the evaluation. 8. Evaluation of the Wine Competition The competition samples are evaluated by a 100-point system of the International Union of Oenologists. The final score for each competition sample, excluding the highest and the lowest values, is the arithmetic mean of all scores. If the highest score is achieved by more than one competition sample a further evaluation criterion, the total sum of points from all tasters in the expert committee, is used. All wines are rated anonymously, served in a covered bottle, with only the sample number displayed. The competition samples are sorted by variety, vintage and residual sugar content. The organizer of the competition is obliged to archive the evaluation score sheets for 5 years. 9. Entry of the competition samples Competitive samples can be registered only on the National Wine Center website https://www.elwis.cz ELWIS (Electronic Wine System) is an original system developed by the Czech National Wine Center for the registration and evaluation of wines. 10.
