Welcome to Ipanema, The Brazilian churrascaria. Borrowed from the pampas region of Brazil, churrascaria, or Brazilian barbeque, is a style of cooking developed by early South American gauchos. These cowboys gathered at the end of long days with their families and slow roasted meats over an open fire. Step 4: choose from the 15 cuts of delectable fire roasted meats that are brought to your table, sliced, and served by our gaucho chefs. Step 5: when you are satisfied, flip the disc to the red side until you are ready for more offerings. Step 6: if you wish, end the meal with one of our delicious desserts. Caipirinha Nobody knows for sure exactly who made the first caipirinha or why. We can only speculate that it was created to help the cachaça go down a little smoother because, after all, 'a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down...' Cachaça is made from the juice of the first pressing of sugarcane, and it is the primary ingredient in a caipirinha (pronounced => kai-pee-reen-yah). The national cocktail of Brazil as well as numerous other batidas (cachaça and fruit mixtures), must be made with fresh lime to achieve an 'authentic' taste, and then add sugar, cracked ice & cachaça.
