Domaine Pierre Damoy Pierre Damoy has been responsible for this impressive estate since July 1992, taking over from his uncle. Pierre found himself at the helm of what is one of the jewels of the Côte d Or: 25 acres of vines, 75% of which lie in 3 of the most esteemed Grands Crus in Burgundy. The Domaine owns 35% of the magnificent Chambertin-Clos de Bèze growth and 40% of Chapelle-Chambertin. Pierre Damoy took the reins of this impressive estate from his uncle in 1992, as is common in Burgundian succession plans. The estate operates in the Côte d Or with 25 acres of vines and includes some of the most esteemed Grands Crus in Burgundy including Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. Domaine Pierre Damoy Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2013 Extremely Limited, EEC STAFF PICK $550 $495 NEW PRICE $450 Since 2002 a selection from old vines planted in 1920 in the far southern section of the Clos. Only made in vintages when Pierre notices a definite superior level of quality. Always strictly limited availability. The wine is of monolithic proportions in the mouth beating all comers by its density, richness and length. 300 to 900 bottles maximum. A perfumed, elegant nose serving up aromas of dark raspberry, sandalwood and earth. The purity of fruit is evident on the palate, along with minerality in spades and persistent finish. Domaine Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 Limited $550 $495 NEW PRICE $450 Small 1 hectare plot at extreme northern end of the vineyard. Colour: dense garnet. Bouquet: brooding, animal, inky, forest floor. Palate: 4 square, dense and unyielding, strong tannin profile. Aromas of ripe cassis, dark cherry, earth and spice becoming more present with time in glass. Concentrated, powerful fruit makes an impact on the palate, combining with impressive minerality for a lengthy finish. Domaine Pierre Damoy Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 Extremely Limited, EEC STAFF PICK $485 $415 NEW PRICE $375 Largest plots dates from 1947. 2.2 hectares of vineyards in a U shape lying on the original La Chapelle vineyard, thin layer of stony soil. Production: 2400-3600 bottles. Colour: deep ruby. Bouquet: disarming, hedonistic, violets and honeysuckle. Palate: quintessential elegance, silk-on-velvet, deliciously fragrant length.

Domaine Pierre Damoy Domaine Pierre Damoy Gevrey-Chambertin 2013 Extremely Limited $125 $108 NEW PRICE $95 Domaine Pierre Damoy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot 2013 Limited, EEC STAFF PICK $185 $165 NEW PRICE $145 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot. Single plot of 1.45 hectares lying immediately behind the family residence, planted in the late teens/early twenties, very low yields. Production: 4500-6000 bottles. Colour: deep ruby. Bouquet: aromatic with overtones of spice and polished mahogany. Palate: well-built, full-flavored, typical gamy appeal. Floral notes such as violets jump from the glass, along with dark berries and earth. The palate sees complex layers to mirror the aromas, delivering perfectly restrained power and length. Domaine Mouton The familial estate for four generations is growing now 12 hectares of vines in Bourgogne, Givry and Givry 1er Cru AOC. The vines are planted in limestone soils reveal fine and subtle white and red wines capable of age. The vineyard is run by Laurent Mouton. Nestled in the Côte Chalonnaise, on 12 perfectly manicured Givry hectares, you ll find the fourth generation of Domaine Mouton. Laurent Mouton meticulously attends to the family vines, producing elegant, mineral and fruit driven wines. Domaine Mouton Givry 1er Cru - Clos Jus 2014 $60 $52 NEW PRICE $48 Clos Jus, has a history dating back to the 13th century but it had fallen out of use by the start of the 20th. In 1990 it was cleared and replanted by a small group of producers, including Domaine Mouton, who could see the potential in the terroir. Concentrated black fruit with herbal notes and good minerality. Very pure and with good weight to balance the bright acidity. This is very fresh and bright with good length. Domaine Mouton Givry 2014 $43 $38 NEW PRICE $33 From far down south in the Côte Chalonnaise, which is located north of the Mâconnais. This cool little red has notes of bay leaf, red cherry and spice that follow through to a palate of much the same, as well as rustic notes of wet stone and forest floor. The Givry Rouge delivers aromas of cherry, spice and a hint of bay leaf, following through to the palate where signature forest floor notes add to the layers of complexity.

Domaine Pierre Matrot Thierry et Pascale Matrot A family estate for six generations, based in Mersault. Currently run by Thierry and Pascale Matrot. Burgundy heritage on show, Domaine Matrot is a sixth generation family estate. Based in Meursault, the holdings include premier cru vineyards in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, terroir known for oozing their precise characteristics. Whites from the stunning 2014 vintage won t be in stock for long. Domaine Matrot Meursault-Charmes 1er Cru 2014 $100 $90 NEW PRICE $80 Complete malolactic fermentation and battonage. Drink it young within three to five years in order to enjoy the combination of fruit and unctuosity. It will take five to seven years for this wine, however, to develop all of its power and finesse. Les Charmes is considered the archetype of Meursault wines. A rich, round and powerful wine, having gone through complete malolactic fermentation and battonage. Best enjoyed young, within three to five years, however development of its power and finesse will take up to seven years. Domaine Matrot Meursault-Perrieres 1er Cru 2014 NEW PRICE $95 The greatest of all Meursault wines, which, as all experts and wine lovers agree, would deserve to be classified as a Grand Cru. Complete malolactic fermentation and battonage, maturing on lees for 11 months. It certainly possesses the strength and finesse of one. It will reveal all of its richness and complexity after seven to ten years. Pure and fresh floral, spice and orchard fruit aromas are a suggestion of the layered palate to come. Densely flavoured, with a powerful, impressive finish. Domaine Matrot Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru 2014 Limited, EEC STAFF PICK NEW PRICE $95 This unctuous and delicate Premier Cru from Puligny-Montrachet, a neighbour of Meursault - Les Charmes, combines strength and finesse. Cellar it for five to seven years in order to give it time to develop. Complete malolactic fermentation and battonage, maturing on lees for 11 months. Spicy, white floral and stone fruit aromas, with just a hint of oak to add to the complex nose. The palate is powerful and rich, with citrus notes appearing just before a long, mouth-filling finish.

Domaine Philippe Colin This domaine that was borne out of Colin-Deleger when brothers Philippe and Bruno Colin decided to go their own ways in 2004. The core of the 11.5 hectare Philippe Colin estate lies in their holdings of Chassagne 1er Cru on Puligny side of the village, with some excellent St Aubin thrown into the mix for good measure. Elegance and subtlety are the name of the game for Philippe Collin- with taut minerality tangling with plush fruit. Based in the Chassagne premier cru, the 11.5 hectares showcase a modern approach results in moorish, seamless wines. Domaine Philippe Colin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chenevottes 2013 NEW PRICE $90 Generous and vibrant notes of citrus and toasted nuts continue on the palate, producing a medium-bodied wine with a persistent finish.
