INFORMATION What is it made from? Hot or Cold temperatures? INGEO TM PLA or "corn plastic" is a biopolymer made from polylactide (PLA) that can be derived from starchy plants like corn, potatoes, tapioca, sugarcane, and soy protein. These biopolymers perform like plastic, but are made from annually renewable resources such as corn. FREEZER MICROWAVE We recommend that any Ingeo (PLA) containers be stored at temperatures less than 105 F (40 C). Remember to keep these products out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place. PLA can also become brittle when frozen, so we don't recommend putting these products in the freezer. SUGARCANE Bagasse is made from sugarcane. Rather than throwing away or burning used sugarcane stalks, the pulp is made into a paper-like substance called bagasse which is then formed into a wide variety of products like containers, plates, and bowls. FREEZER MICROWAVE Designed to withstand boiling water and limited microwave exposure. Although many of these products are microwave safe some items such as our hot cups, soup cups and certain containers are not designed for the extreme heat of the microwave. Microwaves will cause them to warp, leak or even catch on fire. Check product label before use. PAPERBOARD SFI certified paperboard feels and performs like traditional products, without petrochemicals. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting sustainable forest management. The standard sets guidelines and requirements for paper merchants and manufacturers of forest products to ensure that paper goods are being processed and sourced using sustainable practices. FREEZER MICROWAVE The majority of our products excluding PLA items are designed for either hot or cold food applications. Bagasse and Paperboard do well with hot food items but you will notice that many of their matching lids and accessories are made from PET or plastic. This is due to PLA s inability to withstand heat. Compostable? Defined Customizable? Our Process Send us your artwork and/or layout. We return an electronic production proof for your approval. With your approval, production begins. What to Send Us Although the majority of our products are compostable this symbol clarifies that it s a BPI certified compostable item. The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) is a multi-stakeholder association of key individuals and groups from government, industry and academia, which promotes the use, and recycling of biodegradable polymeric materials (via composting). A mixture of decayed or decaying organic matter used to fertilize soil. Compost is usually made by gathering plant material, such as leaves, grass clippings, and vegetable peels, into a pile or bin and letting it decompose as a result of the action of aerobic bacteria, fungi, and other organisms. Vector-based files to print. Acceptable file types:.ai,.eps, or.pdf as long as they aren t flattened. All files need to be outlined and vector-based. All type needs to be outlined, so convert fonts to paths. Text becomes a vector shape and will look no different than its origional state. Submit 300dpi photo files at full project size or larger. Where do I compost? We recommend disposing of our products in a commercial compost facility where they can be broken down, turned into compost and then returned to the soil. Commercial compost facilities are expanding around the country and there may be one in your area. To find a compost facility near you, please visit the US EPA website. Indentifying Color When should you use Spot vs. 4-Color Process/CMYK? If your job uses just a few colors (three or less) - use Spot color. For example: PMS 072 PMS 382 PMS 129 If your job uses more than three colors or if it has shadows, color gradations or includes a photo - use a CMYK build. The build colors are cyan, magenta, yellow and black:
