GOOD GODFREY S SIGNATURES Our very own mixologist created these out of sheer talent and love of a great cocktail. You won t find them anywhere else in the world PERFECT HOST 14.00 Named after the legendary 'Perfect Host'; Rafael "Papi" Valiente, sales manager at Bacardi during the 1920's in Cuba (Prohibition time in USA), who used to greet his American guests at the airport and show them the city sights. This drink was created for the Bacardi Legacy Competition in 2013. Bacardi Superior, apple juice, fresh lime juice, sugar syrup, egg white, basil and celery. SILK TOUCH Martini rosato, dry white Port, Bacardi Superior, fresh lime and lychee juice with a touch of caramel. A light, refreshing cocktail with a complex hint of berries and silky caramel with a long finish and medium body. 14.00 GODFREY`S COBBLER 14.50 One of the most famous cocktails of the 1880`s (at that time made with Sherry) and the first cocktail to be served with a straw. Mozart Dry chocolate liqueur, Byhrr wine-based French aperitif, fresh lemon juice, vanilla, sugar and fresh berries, which is served traditionally over garnished fruits. REFINED MADAM In 19th century London, badly made gin was known as Madam Geneva. We combine premium brand Tanqueray 10 with rose liqueur, fresh lime juice, lavender bitters and cardamom syrup to create a rather more Refined Madam. 15.00 TANGO ESSENCE 16.00 In 1910, The Waldorf launched its famous Argentinean Tango Tea Dance. Like the dance itself, expect a cocktail full of emotions. Martin Millers Gin, Mandarin Napoleon liqueur, home-made forest tea, fresh lemon juice, vanilla sugar and a dash of rose water.
FORGOTTEN CLASSICS SAZERAC 12.50 Created in New Orleans by Antoine Amedee Peychaud, this was originally made with Cognac but was switched to Rye Whiskey after phylloxera destroyed entire French vineyards. Your choice of either Cognac or Rye Whiskey combined with sugar and Peychaud s bitters, served neat in an old fashioned glass rinsed with Absinthe and garnished with a lemon twist. CLOVER CLUB This pre-prohibition classic first made its appearance in The Old Waldorf- Astoria Bar Book in 1935 and was created in Philadelphia in a gentlemen s club with the same name. A mix of Gin, raspberry syrup, egg white, fresh lemon juice and shaken with fresh raspberries. 12.50 MARTINEZ 13.00 This old classic appeared in the first-ever cocktail book How to Mix Drinks or The Bon Vivant s Companion by The Professor Jerry Thomas in 1862. It is believed to be the predecessor of the classic Martini, only with a reverse ratio. Heavier on Carpano Antica sweet vermouth than it is on Hayman s Old Tom Gin, it also features Maraschino liqueur and the remade Boker s bitters. THE LAST WORD This long-forgotten cocktail from the US Prohibition era was created by Frank Fogarty at the Detroit Athletic Club. Equal measures of Gin, Green Chartreuse liqueur, fresh lime juice and Maraschino liqueur. 13.50 CORPSE REVIVER #2 13.50 Created by head bartender Harry Craddock at the American Bar. OLD FASHIONED 12.50 The first use of the name Old Fashioned was for a Bourbon based cocktail at the Pendennis Club, a gentlemen s club in Louisville Kentucky in the 1880 s. Classically handsome, heart warming cocktail made from Bourbon, sugar and bitters, served on the rocks with an orange twist. WALDORF BLOODY MARY 13.50 One of the many stories about the creation of the Bloody Mary credited Fernand Petiot in 1921 at Harry s New York Bar in Paris. A mix of vodka, tomato juice and our own very special house blend of spices to create the definitive Waldorf British classic pick-me-up with a twist. PLANTER S PUNCH 13.50 The first known print reference to Planter s Punch was in 1908 in the New York Times. The famous verse calls for two parts of sour, one and a half of sweet, three of strong and four of weak. This is a rum based cocktail, shaken with pineapple and orange juice, fresh lime and a touch of grenadine. Served long. MAI TAI 14.00 Trader Vic`s classic Mai Tai recipe is the cocktail industry`s best kept secret and one of the pillar cocktails for the creation of the Tiki style of drinks. Our interpretation of the 1944 classic rum based cocktail goes for a blend of different rums, orange Curacao liqueur, fresh lime juice and orgeat syrup. MANHATTAN 14.50 Many classic cocktails have controversial history about their creation and this one is no exception. Many believe it was created for an event hosted by Randolph Churchill, Winston`s father, in honor of presidential candidate Samuel J. Tiden. Either way, it`s a great classic cocktail!
