Remember our Sunday lunch buffet (starts at 12h30) About Adams Outpost Restaurant NORWOOD, Alfred Adams original homestead and now ADAMS OUTPOST RESTAURANT, was built by Alfred Adams in 1887. Adams was Eshowe s first trader and Military Purveyor, and Adams Camp Store served the Fort Curtis Garrison Camp of 2000 Imperial Troops for many years. Norwood hosted many dignitaries and travellers in its day, including Edward, Prince of Wales who, in 1925, is said to have danced on the Norwood dining room table! Norwood was re-located from its original site next to the Golf Course, to the museum grounds in 1997, to make way for a new housing estate, and now houses the Adams Outpost Restaurant. About Fort Nongqayi Fort Nongqayi is a British built fort dating back to 1883. This Fort was used to house the Zululand Native Contingent or the Nongqayi Zulu Police Force. The unit was used to police the then recently colonised Zululand on behalf of the British Colonial Government of Natal. Today the Fort houses the exhibitions of the Zululand Historical Museum and along with the Norwegian Mission Chapel, Vukani Cultural Museum, Adams Outpost Restaurant and The Hairy Canary Curio Shop make up the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village.
