The organic farm Torraccia di Chiusi, currently has 50 hectares of land, is built around the path nr. 1 of Via Francigena described by Sigeric Bishop in the 987 who passed by here on his pilgrimage to Rome. His village has developed over the centuries from a tower of the year 1000 (the Torraccia di Chiusi ), who exercised control over this ancient pilgrimage route. The property, of great historical interest and scenic, consist of the main house, the farmhouse converted in receptive structure (of 11 rooms) and agricultural outbuildings, all surrounded by a park of the nineteenth century, forests, pastures, vineyards and olive trees, all carefully cultivated with organic techniques. The grape varieties in the estate s area are ten, seven red grape, Sangiovese, Merlot, Barsaglina, Alicante Bouschet, Colorino, Ancellotta and Pinot Noir, three white grape, Verdicchio, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. All the grapes are vinified here and are harvested by hand and taken to the cellar by small boxes. Currently Torraccia di Chiusi has 6.5 hectares of vineyards, divided into three distinct fields: Chiusi, Vallisi and Renzano. Az. Agr. La Torraccia S.r.l.
