GW Fasertechnik Efficient Stock Preparation and Hellenbrand Reject Handling Introduction GW Fasertechnik delivers new stock preparations and optimisations for existing lines for over 20 years. All machines are produced under highest quality criteria in own workshops in Germany. With continuous improvement, experience and close cooperation with customers we keep our machine technology and design up-to-date. Pulper rotors and stock preparation equipment are constantly reevaluated to meet new challenges in the industry. You get the GW system with: stock consistency 4-5 % in the pulper adequate pulper energy consumption fibre loss in dewatered light reject < 8 % clean heavy reject without good fibres flakes in pulper accept < 6 % 100-130 cycles of the pulper volume per day Coarse screening reject with 1 % good fibres in removed reject General low energy consumption optimised machines and wear parts for longest lifetimes and lowest maintenance needs = less or cheaper raw material purchase + less reject disposal costs If all equipment is operated correctly, i.e. cycles for flushing reject traps, ragger operation, the amount of fibres at each point in relation to the removed reject at each point will be: a) ragger: 1 % b) heavy reject trap at pulper: 1 % c) heavy reject trap at Junkscreen: 1 % GW Pulper Cleaning System online: http:///produkte#erklaervideo The GW Pulper Cleaning System is available for continuous and discontinuous operation. Fibre loss < 8 % at the reject drum and the < 6 % flakes in pulper accept are usual results and often lower with next to no fibre loss. Usually, the fibre loss at the reject drum in our systems is < 6 %. In most recent cases we get fibre free light reject at the dewatering drum and clean heavy reject (i.e. metal pieces) that can be sold for good money instead of paying for its disposal. [1]

The machines for this optimised pulper cleaning system are the high capacity GW Reject Pump with low energy consumption, the GW Junkscreen family for optimised cleaning and separation of reject from good fibres that are returned to the pulper and the GW Dewatering Drum CON to save the reject water filtrate for use in the system. GW Coarse Screening System You get optimised coarse screening with high stock consistencies so no thickener is required after our system! GW systems have only 1 pump to move the stock and reject from the pulper to the end stage: We use the pressure differences between the Vortexdrive screens and the heavy reject cleaners - our SSLs : First stages: GW Vortexdrives, GW SSLs: The GW Vortexdrives work with stock consistencies up to 4 % and are highly effective cleaning and screening aggregates. The machines are fed directly with the pulper accept stock. The Vortexdrive separates the contaminants the pulper accept into GW Vortexdrive 3 Aviretta light and heavy reject. At the same time it deflakes the pulper accept more. This opened accept can be collected in a vat without an additional intermediate screening. The separated reject joins again in the cover area of the Vortexdrive and is removed in a tangential outlet. GW SSLs Aviretta This reject mix moves without pump to our SSL (heavy reject cleaner) which separates fibres and light reject from the heavy reject. The central inlet of the Vortexdrive creates in combination with the rotor a stable rotational movement: light reject concentrates with a portion of fibres in the centre of the vortex and fibre flakes are deflaked between rotor wings and screen moving as accept forward through the screen box. The rejects are conveyed directly to the next cleaning step preferredly GW heavy reject cleaner (SSLs). The GW SSLs protect all following screening equipment from abrasion and wear through heavy reject particles. The SSLs remove these particles using the pressure from the Vortexdrives no additional pumps needed. They have an insert to wash back fibres into the system before opening the reject trap. GW SSLs Hamburger Pitten [3]
Coarse Screening Final stage: GW Lastvortex S+Z and 1 SSL in between: The final stage of GW coarse screening systems is special: It consists of a horizontal machine with screen plate and a vertical machine with screen basket. This separation allows you to use the Lastvortex S a last time to deflake and save strong and long fibres. You can operate both screens efficiently with different speeds and consistency to get the best out of both technologies! The Lastvortex S is a horizontal screen machine with screen plate and can work with up to 4 % stock consistency. GW Lastvortex S The SSL Heavy reject cleaner in between the Lastvortex S and Lastvortex Z removes remaining heavy reject particles to protect the cylinder machine from wearing. The Lastvotex Z is a cylindrical vertical screen with screen baskets working with lower stock consistency up to 2.5 %. The Lastvortex Z delivers almost dry and fibre free coarse reject. Hellenbrand Maschinenbau Reject Handling Equipment: Hellenbrand Maschinenbau has over 20 years of experience in maintenance and optimisation of reject handling equipment for paper and board bills. Shredders and the reject press Kompress MH have advantages in comparison with other suppliers. The machine design and manufacturing techniques used offer to our customers reliable and long-lasting housings and frame parts without breaking welding seams and immensely low wearing of the wear parts. We have increased life-times between 100 and 400 %: from 4 to over 16 months for shredder cutting units and modified reject presses according to our design. For your project we offer for now only presses, if you desire a shredder please inform us especially, if you need a particular particle size. Among reference customers for new machines are Pro Papier mills, Leipa, PK Varel, Papierfabrik Palm and for upgrades and optimisation of life times: German UPM mills, Papierfabrik Adolf Jass, Looking at the reject presses usually following the shredding equipment, if existent, Hellenbrand has various improvements for existing presses that of course are part of the design when delivering the new machines of type Kompress MH (normal sizes 500 and 600). Stability and life-time are partly due to these factors: Kompress MH 500 Shaft and bearing made from solid block Welded parts are stress free annealed Intermediate gear housing plates thickness 70/80 mm Clean connections for thick to thin parts to prevent breaks [5] Geschäftsführerin: SWIFT (BIC): GENODE61SUW USt.-ID-Nr. Problems like this are only for competitors: We replace the screw frames for more stable and longer life time of the equipment. References for these optimisations include UPM Augsburg, Jass Rudolstadt, Heinzel Paper Raubling, Smurfit Kappa Baden Karton, Leipa Schwedt, Aviretta GmbH. For separating water from the heavy reject removed from the pulper and the GW Junkscreen we offer heavy reject separators (type SST) in various sizes to transport all kinds of rejects: Statement from our customer Papierfabrik Tillmann: "We are now able to work the heavy reject trap well, without reduced water usage. The installation of the 2 SSTs from Hellenbrand have been a success and work well with even very big pieces of heavy reject. [6] Geschäftsführerin: SWIFT (BIC): GENODE61SUW USt.-ID-Nr.
