Trade Stall Form Welcome The Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces Committee would like to invite you to participate as a stall holder at the 28th Festival of the Fleeces to be held on 9 June 2018. Merriwa s annual Festival of the Fleeces commenced in 1990 and in 2017 drew crowds of over 5,000 people. Organising has kicked off for the 2018 event and now is the time to book your stall so you don t miss out! Trade Stall Requirements Stall holders MUST ensure that the booking form, public liability insurance certificate, and payment is confirmed by the 30 April 2018. Applications will not be accepted after this date and no refunds will be given after this date also. N.B. Stall site allocations may be exhausted before closing date. It is the responsibility of all stall holders to comply with regulations of the Department of Fair Trading and any other regulations of any other statutory body under which the nature of the stall holder may be required to be covered. All equipment is to be in a safe operating condition and have been subject to any inspection which may be required under law for that particular type of equipment. Stall holders MUST provide a copy of their current Public Liability Insurance. Applications will not be accepted without a copy of the insurance. Merriwa Festival of the Fleeces reserves the right to refuse any stall holders at its discretion. Stall holders must set up ONLY between 6.00am - 8.00am on the day of the event. Stalls must be packed up between 3.00pm 4.00pm for ALL stalls. (Roads will reopen at 4.00pm). All vehicles (excluding food and coffee vans) MUST be removed from the main street BEFORE 8.00am. From 3.00pm onwards, stall holders can bring their vehicles back into the main street to pack up. Stall holders are responsible for removing all rubbish from their site. Stall holders are required to supply all tables, chairs, wet weather provisions and other necessary equipment eg. Weights to keep down gazebos, required for their stall. Note: Stalls on the north side of Bettington Street need something to level out your gazebo due to a slope in the street. No powered sites are available. Mandatory requirements for Food Stalls (please tick each box to confirm the stall will meet requirements) Construction and fixtures Stall to be set up on sealed ground If site is unsealed a suitable ground cover is provided Stall has suitable canopy/overhead cover and is enclosed by 3 sides Stall fittings, fixtures and equipment in good condition and able to be easily cleaned Stall counter areas are smooth and impervious and easily cleaned (can be covered with plastic/plastic tablecloths to achieve this purpose Preparation and display of food protected from likely contamination Waste disposal Rubbish bin with lid All waste disposed of in accordance with event guidelines Wastewater disposed of in a lawful or approved manner (not to be disposed of down stormwater drain) Electricity, gas and fire safety Electricity provided to the stall in such a manner as not to constitute a trip hazard Gas fired appliances not to have a gas bottle capacity of greater than 9kg Gas bottle secured so it cannot be tipped over Suitable fire extinguish equipment provided Where potentially hazardous food provided Cleaning and Sanitation - The following requirements do not apply to stalls providing prepackaged or low risk foods requiring no food handling or temperature control A sealed container of warm potable water (minimum capacity of 10 litres) provided for cleaning purposes Sufficient bowls or containers provided to facilitate cleaning/sanitising of utensils and equipment and for the capture/storage of used water Sufficient clean towels, detergent and food grade sanitiser 4 4
Handwashing facilities A sealed container of warm potable water provided for use as a handwashing facility, separate from other facilities and located so as to be easily accessed by all food handlers Liquid soap and single use paper towels to be provided for handwashing purposes Food Storage and Protection All food is stored so as to be adequately protected from possible contamination and so that environmental conditions will not adversely affect the suitability of food. All food to be stored off the ground (minimum height 150mm) All potentially hazardous foods stored under appropriate temperature control Cold foods to be stored below 5 C Hot food appliances able to maintain hot foods at or above 60 C Separate utensils to be used for cooked and raw meats, poultry and seafood All food remains covered unless being processed or prepared, unprotected food must not be left unattended If you were unable to tick yes to any of these questions, you may need to discuss these issues with Council and/or change your management plan before the event begins.
