RESTORING A LEGEND extraordinary team of stonemasons to fill in all gaps in the stone work. Each side of the building will be checked, a process that will be time consuming but will help maintain the structural integrity of our cellars. Inside the historic cellar walls major repairs are also being done. The strengthening of our stone winery s walls consists of an innovative technique called Center Core Drilling. The reason we have applied this to the retrofit process is that it strengthens the exterior masonry walls with no visible evidence. Additional work inside includes, the three vaults (wine caves) reinforced as well as repairs and restoration to all three levels of this historic building. Our skilled restoration team has reached the half way point and every day progress is being made so that by fall, the champagne cellars will be reopened for all to see and experience again. Follow our progress online at BuenaVistaWinery.com Many have been forever charmed by Buena Vista and its cellars and vaults, the oldest stones of the California wine world. As one of our valued club members, you are part of our extended family and it is our goal to keep you informed during this exciting renovation. While we would love to have you visit every week, we realize for many of you that is not an option, so throughout this exciting progress we will be updating our website www.buenavistawinery.com. We strongly encourage you to track our progress - you are just as much a part of it as we are. If we did have the pleasure of your company at the winery today you would see the ivy has completely been removed from the outside of the historic cellars. In addition five stories of scaffolding have been constructed so that each inch of the building can be examined and repaired if necessary. The outer walls are currently being re-grouted to ensure that each stone is set in place. As you might imagine there has been some wear and tear on the historic cellars over the decades. It is up to our SPARKLING WINE RETURNS TO BUENA VISTA While Agoston Haraszthy was most recognized as being the Father of California viticulture, he was also the father of six illustrious children. His third son, Arpad, spent over two years in France learning the craft of sparkling wine and later became the first to introduce Méthode Traditionelle sparkling wine into commercial California winemaking. Arpad s sparkling wine, Eclipse, was one of the most celebrated in the nineteenth century; we pay tribute to his legacy through this brut sparkling wine of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.

May Club Wines Spring has arrived and in full bloom here in Sonoma, with summer approaching fast. Your latest release includes the perfect combination of wines to share with family and friends during the long summer days. 2009 Sparkling Brut, Carneros Retail Price $40 Club Price $32 Reorder Price $28 The 2009 Buena Vista Sparkling Brut displays elegant apple and pear aromatics that dance delicately on the nose. Seductively crisp and refreshing on the palate, citrus flavors of Meyer lemon and Clementine are supported by intricate layers of vanilla bean, mineral and stone. 2009 Pinot Noir,Pommard clone, Ramal Vineyard Retail Price $42 Club Price $33.60 Reorder Price $29.40 Our Ramal Vineyard clonal wines give us the opportunity to showcase individual clones or blocks that perform exceptionally well in any given vintage. In 2009 the Pommard Clone of Pinot stood out for its depth of color and fruit intensity. The wine is ripe and explosive with red cherry, black plum, clove and jasmine. The palate is soft and generous with opulent red and black fruit with forest floor nuance. 2011 Rosé of Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast Retail Price $22 Club Price $17.60 Reorder Price $15.40 This 2011 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir Rose showcases a beautiful pale salmon color in the glass. On the nose and the palate, juicy flavors of blackberry cobbler, citrus orange peel and warm baking spices are sure to make your mouth water. It was made in the Saigne style, which has helped create its smooth, soft and luscious style with nice balanced acidity.
