January 2019 Dear Parents: The Blair Mill Home and School Association is pleased to announce our annual Blair Mill Science Fair. Boys and girls in grades K-5 are invited to submit experiments to be exhibited at the fair, which will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019. This is a voluntary activity, but all students are encouraged to participate. Children in grades 2 through 5 will receive a packet which will guide them in the completion of the science fair project. If your child is in kindergarten or first grade, and would like to participate, they can obtain a packet from the Blair Mill office. Projects are due on Friday, February 1st. Three-fold science fair backboards are available in the Blair Mill office for $3.00. In addition to the exhibition of student projects, our fair will feature refreshments, as well as a special science assembly. Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us on February 2nd. Blair Mill Morning Walking Club for 2 nd -5 th Graders! Walking Club is for 2 nd 5 th graders on Tuesdays. The first session is Tuesday, October 2 nd, 2018 at 8:15 AM. Join us in the schoolyard on our walking track to exercise and start the day off right. We will walk every Tuesday morning at 8:15 AM in the schoolyard (weather permitting). Please dress appropriately. We will walk outdoors unless it is below 30 degrees, raining or snowing. If there is inclement weather, walking club will be cancelled for that day. Parents are welcome to walk. Please join us at the schoolyard after your child enters the building. The following are the expectations for participants of the Walking Club: Walk safely around the blacktop. Stay within the lines of the track. Do not pull on the basketball nets. Continue your lap when the whistle is blown to line up (do not run across the blacktop). Go into the building quietly. Keep your hands to yourself.
