This species of Boswellia is a small deciduous tree, which reaches a height of 2 to 8 m (6 ft. 7 in to 26 ft. 3 in), This specious of Boswellia family called (Boswellia Sacra). It is abundant in Oman and southern Yemen in arid woodland, on the steep, precariously eroding slopes in the mountains of Dhofar. The trees start producing resin when they are about 8 to 10 years old and the resin is extracted by making a small, shallow incision on the trunk or branches of the tree or by removing a portion of the crust of it. The resin is drained as a milky substance that coagulates in contact with air and is collected by hand. The Omani frankincense has been classified into four types according to its degree of excellence and growing conditions vary significantly, affecting both tree development and resin produced. Al Hoojri which is from the trees that grow in the Eastern part of Dhofar is the finest quality Al Najdi which grows in the northern and Central Heights plateau of Dhofar is the second grade. Al Shazri which grows in the western part of Dhofar between Al Najd and the rainfall area is third grade. Al Sha abi whose trees grow in the coastal plain where rainfall is adequate is the fourth grade. The Omani frankincense is globally considered superior to all other resins harvested in North and Northeast Africa, India, and Asia.

The minimum order of the Royal Hoojri is 5-10 Kg Superior Hoojri Is the second grade of the Hoojri frankincense which is in a white colour and its been used for Medicine & Incense. The minimum order of the Superior Hoojri is 5-10 Kg. High grade Hoojri Is the third grade of the Hoojri frankincense which is in a white & brown colour and its been used for Medicine & Incense. The minimum order of the high grade hoojri is 50 Kg. Najdi Is the second grade of the Omani frankincense which is in yellow colour. The minimum order of Najdi is 100 Kg. Shazri Is the third grade of the Omani frankincense which is in mix colours (white, brown & black). The minimum order of Shazri is 100 Kg. Sha abi Is the last grade of the Omani frankincense which is in brown & black colour. The minimum order of Sha abi is 100 Kg.
