FROM THE VICE PRESIDENTS PEN I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year. The RSA didn t open on Christmas Eve. Mondays are an anomaly for Christmas Eve s. Anyway, onwards and upwards.. We had a great New Year s Eve, with the Outlaws entertaining for the night (Jim s recital of the Ode at 9.00 p.m., was one of the most moving I have heard for a long time). Since then we have had Annette and Kim, with guest artist Allan Webster entertain us for a Friday night; a very popular show that attracted a large audience. It was particularly good to see all the guests there on that night. Our attempt to open on a Sunday afternoon was a bit of a fizzer, (possibly through) lack of advertising so we will try this again at a later date. So keep an eye out and, if you would like the Clubrooms to be open on a Sunday please show your support by coming along. This Saturday 19 th January, we have the PARTY ON THE GRASS, with a great line up of entertainment for the afternoon. The weather looks like it will be in our favour, the courtesy coach will run from 12:00pm and the show kicks off at 1:00pm. BBQ sausages will be available, with the Bistro opening at 4:00pm for those who want something extra. Special deals will be available from the bar. This will be a fantastic afternoon and I hope you don t miss out. Please remember the Freddie Mercury and Queen Tribute show in February. Tickets are on sale at the bar, $20.00 for the show only and $40.00 for show and Buffet meal. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bar Manager Pam, for her assistance this year, organising and running the bar raffles, Melbourne Cup day, children s Christmas party as well as gifts for birthdays etc. My thanks also go out to barman, Eddie, for his help organising the Friday night entertainment and tribute shows. In closing I would like to thank you all for your support of the RSA over the last year and look forward to seeing you in the club rooms again this year. Have a great month. Kevin Peachey.
