The Amazonia Announcer November 2017 PLC: This is our 2nd year of training as a PLC (Professional Learning Community) school. Through this training and process, we have developed a school mission statement, vision, collective commitments, and mantra. Mantra: Today s Learners, Tomorrow s Leaders! Amazonia s Mission: We are confident individuals who are assets to our community. Amazonia s Vision: Amazonia Elementary will provide a student-centered culture of belonging. Amazonia s Collective Commitments: Student-Centered Culture Belonging If we have a student-centered environment, we will build relationships by offering choices and facilitating learning. If we value culture, then there are consistent expectations that drives our purpose. (Keep them accountable) If we have a sense of belonging, then we will encourage each other. Family Night (Student Achievement & Community Involvement) : Mark your calendar for Thursday, Nov. 16 th for our next Family Night! Last month at our Family Night was held on October 19 th. Parents and students participated in a variety of activities. Students and parents listened to Halloween stories online, painted pumpkins, and had a snack. We had 21 people in attendance. Community Involvement: Mark Uehlin and his family donated pumpkins to the school. Every student was able to take a pumpkin home! Students were very excited. Parent / Teacher Conferences (Student Achievement & Community Involvement) : We had a great turnout for our parent / teacher conferences. Conferences are a wonderful time to celebrate the children s success and work together as a team to develop plans for our children to be more successful. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! Book Fair: Thank you for visiting the book fair with your child. Reading is very important. Remember to read every night with your children or have them read to you.

Christmas Program (Student Achievement & Community Involvement : Students in grades 3-5 will be performing for our Christmas Program on Dec. 14 th at 7:00. You are invited to come and watch the performance and help celebrate the holiday season! Birthdays: We would like to wish a Happy Birthday to all students and staff who have celebrated their birthdays in October and November. Cool Weather: The weather is beginning to turn colder. Please make sure that your children are dressing appropriately. They will be going outside for recess. Dressing in layers is a great idea. Don t forget to have students bring their jackets to school! Please write your child s name in their jackets and coats. During this time of year we begin to collect quite a few jackets and coats in Lost & Found. If a name is written on the label, they are much easier to return to the correct owner. Veterans Day Assembly: Amazonia Elementary would like to honor the veterans in our community. We will have an assembly to honor the veterans on Friday, November 10 th at 1:30pm. We would like to extend an invitation to veterans to join us on Veterans Day! We will send a form home to complete with the veterans information, so that we can make each veteran a certificate and reserve a lunch for them, if they choose to eat lunch at school. Please mark your calendar for 1:30pm on November 10 th! School Activities (Student Achievement & Community Involvement): STUCO participated in the Homecoming Parade. 4 th & 5 th Grade attended the Symphony. Family Night was held on October 15 th. 1 st Quarter Awards Assembly was held to recognize student progress and achievements! B & J School wide skating party was held on Friday, Oct. 31 st. We were very fortunate that many family members were able to join us as we skated. El locutor de la Amazonia Noviembre de 2017 PLC: Este es nuestro 2 º año de formación como una escuela PLC (comunidad de aprendizaje profesional). A través de este proceso y entrenamiento, hemos desarrollado una declaración de misión de la escuela, visión, compromisos colectivos y mantra. Mantra: Estudiantes de hoy, los líderes del mañana! Misión de la Amazonía: Estamos seguros de quienes son activos a nuestra comunidad. Visión de la Amazonía: Primaria de Amazonia proporcionará una centrada en el estudiante la cultura de pertenencia. Compromisos colectivos de la Amazonía: Centrada en el estudiante Cultura Perteneciente Si tenemos un ambiente centrado en el estudiante, construimos relaciones, ofreciendo opciones y facilitando el aprendizaje. Si valoramos la cultura, hay expectativas consistente que impulsa nuestro propósito. Si tenemos un sentido de pertenencia, entonces alentaremos mutuamente. (Mantenerlos responsables) Noche familiar (Logro estudiantil y participación de la comunidad) : Marca tu calendario para el jueves, 16 de noviembre TH para nuestra próxima noche familiar! El mes pasado en nuestra Noche familiar tuvo lugar el 19 de octubre TH. Los padres y estudiantes participaron en una variedad de actividades. Los estudiantes y padres escuchaban historias de Halloween en línea, pintaron calabazas y tenían una merienda. Teníamos 21 personas en asistencia. Participación de la comunidad: Mark Uehlin y su familia donaron calabazas a la escuela. Cada estudiante fue capaz de tomar una casa calabaza! Los estudiantes estaban muy emocionados. Padres / maestros (Logros de los estudiantes y participación de la comunidad) : Tuvimos una gran asistencia de nuestros padres / maestros. Las conferencias son un tiempo maravilloso para celebrar el éxito de los niños y trabajar juntos como un equipo para desarrollar planes para nuestros hijos a ser más exitosos. Gracias! Gracias! Feria del libro: Gracias por visitar la Feria del libro con su niño. La lectura es muy importante. Recuerda leer todas las noches con sus hijos o lea a usted. Programa de Navidad (Logro estudiantil y participación de la comunidad : Los estudiantes en grados 3-5 se presentará para nuestro programa de Navidad en 14 de diciembre TH en 7:00. Les invitamos a venir y ver el rendimiento y ayudar a celebrar las fiestas navideñas! Nos gustaría extender una invitación a los veteranos a acompañarnos el día de los veteranos! Le enviaremos un formulario a completar con la información de los veteranos para que podemos hacer a cada veterano un certificado y un almuerzo para ellos, la reserva si así lo desean almorzar en la escuela. Por favor marque su calendario para la 13:30 el 10 de noviembre th! Actividades de la escuela (Logro estudiantil y participación de la comunidad): STUCO participó en el desfile de regreso a casa. 4 TH y 5 TH Grado asistieron a la sinfonía. Noche familiar tuvo lugar el 15 de octubre TH.

B & J escuela gran parte de patinaje se llevó a cabo el Viernes 31 de octubre St. Fuimos muy afortunados de que muchos miembros de la familia fueron capaces de unirse a nosotros como hemos patinado.
