Arborvitae Thuja occidentalis Description: Also known as white cedar, this evergreen has a dense, narrow, pyramid shape making it a beneficial windbreak or hedge if planted in rows. May also be planted individually for landscaping accents next to doors and house corners. Mature Height: 20-40 Mature Spread: 10-15 Growth Rate: Slow - Medium Growing Conditions: Adaptable to various soil types. Prefers partial to full sun. Tolerant of heat, drought and pollution. Intolerant of full shade. Mature Height: 40-60 Mature Spread: 15-25 Growth Rate: Slow Balsam Fir Abies balsamea Description: Medium-sized conifer has flat, dark green needles with strong balsam scent. Fragrance, shape and blue-green color makes a desirable landscape and Christmas tree and are popular for making holiday decorations. Growing Conditions: Prefers well-drained, somewhat acidic soils in partial to full sun. Mature Height: 50-80 Mature Spread: 20-40 Eastern White Pine Pinus strobus Description: Soft, long blue-green needles and open canopy. Fast growing and easily transplanted. Wildlife feed on cone seeds and needles. Growing Conditions: Adaptable to various soil types and conditions. Prefers moist, well-drained sandy soils in partial to full sun. Bald cypress Taxodium distichum Description: Long-lived, hardy deciduous conifer that loses its needles each fall. Yellow-green needles in spring turn to rich orange-brown in fall. Native to swamps and wet areas but also grows well in drier soils. Mature Height: 50-70 Mature Spread: 20-30 Growth Rate: Medium Growing Conditions: Adaptable to various soil types, tolerant of both wet and dry conditions. Prefers partial to full sun. Colorado blue spruce Picea pungens glauca Description: One of the most popular ornamental conifers, silvery blue-green needles makes this tree a great landscaping focal point. Tall conifer can be planted singularly or as a dense, colorful screen or windbreak. *Note: Seedling colors range from green to blue. Mature Height: 60-100 Mature Spread: 20-30 Growth Rate: Slow - Medium Growing Conditions: Adaptable to various soil types. Prefers moderate soil moisture and full sun. Tolerant of flooding and drought. Mature Height: 40-60 Mature Spread: 25-30 Norway Spruce Picea abies Description: Dense conifer with long cones, dark green needles and reddish bark. Strong, fast growing tree makes it popular for windbreaks and reforesting areas. Growing Conditions: Adaptable to various soil types and conditions. Prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun. Growth Rate: Slow = Less than 12 per year Medium = 12-24 per year Fast = Over 24 per year

American Chestnut Hybrid Castanea dentata x Available in Bare root only Description: Fast growing hybrid should produce rich, flavorful, edible nuts in 13-15 years. Although male and female flowers can be produced on the same tree, it s recommended to plant at least two trees for good pollination and nut production. *Note: Hybrid is not guaranteed to be blight resistant. Mature Height: 80-100 Growth Rate: Medium - Fast Growing Conditions: Prefers well-drained soils in full sun. Pin Oak Quercus palustris Description: Fast growing Oak with red-brown leaves in fall that hang on longer than any other hardwood in winter. Dense canopy provides excellent shade or windbreak. Acorns attract wildlife. Mature Height: 50-70 Mature Spread: 40-50 Growing Conditions: Prefers acidic, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerant of wet soil with moderate flooding. Intolerant of alkaline soils. Silky Dogwood Cornus amomum Description: Medium shrub blooms tiny yellow-white flower in late spring with blue berry-like drupes in late summer. Birds are attracted to fruit. Typically found in wet and low-lying areas, making it ideal for growing in floodplains and along streams. Mature Height: 6-12 Mature Spread: 6-12 Growth Rate: Medium Growing Conditions: Prefers medium to wet, well-drained soils in partial to full sun. Black Gum Nyssa sylvatica Description: Also known as Black Tupelo. In fall, leaves turn to a brilliant orange-red with small, blue-black berries. Small green-white flowers appear in spring, providing an excellent nectar source for bees. *Note: Female trees need a male pollinator to set fruit. Due to plant immaturity, gender can not be requested or guaranteed. Mature Height: 30-50 Mature Spread: 20-30 Growth Rate: Slow-Medium Growing Conditions: Prefers medium to wet soils in partial to full sun. Tolerant of poorly-drained soils with standing water or dry upland sites. Red Maple Acer rubrum Description: Commonly known as Scarlet or Swamp Maple. Provides a pop of red in every season Bright red flowers in early spring, red stems and twigs in summer, brilliant orange-red foliage in fall and red buds in winter. Mature Height: 40-60 Mature Spread: 30-40 Growing Conditions: Adaptable to various soil conditions. Prefers moist, acidic soils. Partial to full sun. Swamp White Oak Quercus bicolor Description: Low-lying oak with peeling bark and two-toned leaves showing dark, shiny green on top with silvery white on underside. Provides excellent shade for any landscape. Acorns attract wildlife. Mature Height: 50-60 Mature Spread: 50-60 Growth Rate: Medium Growing Conditions: Prefers moist, acidic soils in low-lying areas along creeks or swampy areas. Prefers full sun. Tolerant of drought. Witch Hazel Hamamelis virginiana Description: Dense, multi-stemmed plant can be maintained as large shrub or small tree. Late-blooming with green leaves and bright yellow ribbon-like flowers in fall and winter. Known for its medicinal properties. Mature Height: 15-30 Mature Spread: 12-25 Growth Rate: Medium Growing Conditions: Prefers moist, well-drained acidic soils in partial to full sun. Creeping phlox Ronsdorfer s Beauty Description: Long-blooming groundcover has deep rose-pink flowers with magenta-red center. Blooms early to mid spring. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Mature Height: 3-6 Mature Spread: 15-30 Growing Conditions: Prefers moist, well-drained soils in partial to full sun. Tolerant of heat, shade and drought. Lavender Hidcote Blue Description: Compact, fragrant shrub has deep violet-purple flowers with gray-green foliage. Blooms in summer. Very versatile; used for perfumes, oils and medicinal purposes. Attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Deer and rabbit resistant. Mature Height: 12-24 Mature Spread: 12-24 Growing Conditions: Prefers well-drained, alkaline soil in full sun. Tolerant of drought. Intolerant of poorly drained soils. PURPLE CONEFLOWER Echinacea Description: Popular perennial with smooth stems, long lasting purple flowers and a brown spiny center. Blooms mid to late summer. Attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Mature Height: 2-5 Mature Spread: 12-24 Growing Conditions: Prefers moist, well-drained soils. Adaptable to various soil conditions. Geum Cooky Description: Clump-forming long-flowering perennial blooms 1 orange flowers in late spring until summer. Leaves stay green after flowers have bloomed, making it an ideal groundcover. Attracts butterflies and bees. Deer resistant. Mature Height: 6-12 Mature Spread: 6-12 Growing Conditions: Prefers medium moisture, well-drained soils in partial to full sun. Tolerant of drought. Monarda Bee Balm Description: Dense clusters of striking red flowers on tall stems with dark green leaves. Blooms mid to late summer. Attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Sedum Sieboldii Scabiosa Pink Mist Description: Also known as pincushion, a compact, clump-forming perennial with 2 pink flowers and a pale pink center. Flowers bloom singly on stiff stems from late April until frost. Attracts butterflies. Deer resistant. Mature Height: 12-18 Mature Spread: 12-18 Growing Conditions: Prefers medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerant of drought. Intolerant of wet, poorly drained soils. Description: Also known as stonecrop, this evergreen succulent groundcover forms round scalloped, blue-green foliage edged with a deep pink line. Blooms star-shaped, bright pink flower clusters in early to late fall. Entire plant turns light to deep pink with colder temperatures. Deer resistant. Earliblue produces large, light blue berries, ripening uniformly in tight clusters. Resistant to cracking. Popular due to mild sweet flavor. Grows upright and is cold tolerant. Bluecrop produces vigorous and consistent light blue berries in large clusters. Firm and somewhat tart. High yielding and extremely hardy. Earliblue and Bluecrop are self-pollinating but yield better if pollinated together. Mature Height: 4-6 Ripening Date: June (Earliblue) & July (Bluecrop) PEACH White Lady Description: Sold individually. Large, white-flesh freestone peach. Low acidity and full, rich flavor. Fruit is very firm and averages 3 inches. Tree is vigorous and adaptable to fluctuating spring weather conditions. Self-pollinating.
