Brighter white than 'Carpet of Snow' in last year's trials. Intensely scented strain of Sweet Large Leaf basil that is becoming very popular in the "Gourmet" vegetable trade. The best all-around red beet. Rapid growth, sweet flavor, and tenderness are the characteristics of Red Ace. The round, smooth, deep red roots size early, with high uniformity. They maintain their sweet tenderness when larger and older. Medium tall, red-veined greens for bunching. Used in our fields for several years now along with 'Green Comet' - very nice sized heads of firm florets - dark green and delicious. Grows well in our neck of the woods. Calendula Calendula officinalis Pacific Beauty Mixed 12-18 tall by 12 wide This edible annual prefers cooler climates and the pot marigold's blooms peak in spring to early summer but can last through the fall. Winter squash Cucurbita Butternut This fine Butternut type is the most popular winter squash. Fruit are 8-10 in. long with thick, cylindrical necks. Its flesh color is richer than others, and the fruit store well, late into winter.
