Patriot Times Red, White, & News! VOLUME 8, ISSUE 26, APRIL 27, 2018 Changes to Come to RLBMS Next Year! We are excited about the changes for next year at RLBMS! Many aspects of daily school life will look much different than they have in the past. Firstly, instead of having 86-minute classes, we will have a 43-minute core class and then a 43-minute skills class at a different time of day. This combination of a core and a skill class will be substituting for the long block classes. You could even have a different teacher for your skills class than your core class. Secondly, Schoology will be replacing LiveGrades. Schoology has similar features to Facebook. You can even get the app on your phone or tablet. Advisory will look much different next year, too. We will have a 30-minute advisory, either right before or after lunch depending on your grade level. Advisory is going to be more like recess. You will have one physical day out of the week. The fifth grade schedule will look more like an elementary schedule. They will have all core classes in the morning and vocational classes in the afternoon. Also, instead of having Spanish on the computer, Ms.Cutright will be your teacher. She will be teaching 1A and 1B Spanish every day in the classroom behind the library. We are very excited about these changes and are looking forward to the 2018-2019 school year! Written by Emma Pinkney, Bo Probst, and Jordyn Aman

I am afraid I will hurt his feelings. How can I tell him how I feel without breaking his heart? Dear Heart-crusher, Sincerely, Heart-crusher You should do what you think is best. If you don t like him anymore, then you should tell him how you feel. It will hurt his feelings if he finds out you don t like him anymore, but he will be heartbroken no matter what. You should tell him how you actually feel and then you can both move on with your lives. Sincerely, Phoebe

Add the chicken and stir gently to coat. Let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Prepare the sauce: In another bowl, combine the black vinegar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, cornstarch, and Sichuan pepper. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat until a bead of water sizzles and evaporates on contact. Add the peanut oil and swirl to coat the base. Add the chilies and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, or until the chilies have just begun to blacken and the oil is slightly fragrant. Add the chicken and stir-fry until no longer pink, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the scallion whites, garlic, and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds. Pour in the sauce and mix to coat the other ingredients. Stir in the peanuts and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle the scallion greens on top, and serve.
