For The Aging

Happy Easter, Healthy Passover, Spring has sprung! It always amazes me that New Yorkers are such a hardy lot and after this past winter, we ve earned it. Our Passover Seder is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 st with our guest cantor, Shira Ginzburg from The East End Temple. Many thanks to our fabulous volunteers who set up the dining room beautifully for this special event. We also thank the Met Council for their generous donation of Passover food for participants to take home. This month, we are re-starting our Tai Chi class led by Barbara Greenberg. Check the calendar for day and time. Our wonderful Strength Training teacher, Renate Brand has retired and we are looking for a new, certified teacher. Karen Sivigny has graciously offered to teach the class until we find another teacher. Our play-reading class continues on alternate Wednesdays, reading plays from old to modern. John Windsor-Cunningham is a British actor who makes this class great fun and informative. We are fortunate to have a talented team of therapists from Weill Cornell who are in residence helping those affected by Hurricane Sandy who may take advantage of counseling here at Stein. This short-term counseling is free. Please see me or Sandy if you are interested. Spanish is spoken as well as English. Our computer classes for Beginners is starting this month on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, April 6 th. Check the calendar for time and sign up with Susan. This series is sponsored by Dan Garodnick. On Wednesday, April 1, at 1:15, Neil Gronowetter from Northwestern Mutual will present a lecture on funding our retirement. ALERT: He will be bringing cookies from Venieros! On Tuesday, April 14 th, we will have free hearing tests from Audicus. It will start at 1:15 pm. Our Nurses are organizing a Holistic Health Fair for May 13 at the center, so save the date! Thank you for supporting our programs. Jane Barry
