The founder and owner is James Smiley Williams, an ex-ball player, ex-musician, ex-club operator, ex-restaurant & bar manager, wannabe professional golfer, and for the past 36 years probably the only Gringo gourmet Mexican cook, cashier, waiter, bartender, busboy and pot washer anywhere! Campo Verde is unique from any other Mexican food restaurant. We have tried to combine what we feel our customers want in dining out with the best food, service and atmosphere. 37 years ago, there was only twelve to fifteen Mexican restaurants in Tarrant County. At present, there are over 300. This astounding growth tells us that people have become authorities, not only in Mexican food, but in the entire restaurant industry.
