It doesn t matter who you are or how old, if you want to learn to ride a horse they can help with that. NAC is also always looking for volunteers, Cheryl and Hal both explored volunteer opportunities while there, it was hard not to get inspired. Beach Party!! Let s all go to the Deer Valley ponds for a beach party! Tuesday June 16 th we will have a blast trying out Stand Up Paddle Boards, hanging out by the water, enjoying the sun, snacks and the company of good friends. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand your horizons, try something new and act your shoe size rather than your age. There will be 10 paddleboards available so that gives everyone plenty of opportunity to try out the fastest growing sport. There will be instructors available to offer assistance with getting on and off the boards and a brief fitness class for those who want to give that a try. Just because it s called stand up paddle boarding it does not mean you actually have to stand, you can kneel or sit on a board as well. When you re not busy playing in the water toss around a beach ball or simply relax in the shade on the deck of the Grocery Café. Lunch will be a boxed lunch from Zupas. Hope to see many in attendance. Then number of entries for the quilting contest may have been few but the talent was immense. While looking at each quilt the judges took great care to look at the beauty and detail in each entry. There were two categories that individuals were able to enter a quilt into, finished before the contest was announced and finished after the contest was announced. The judges were very complimentary of each quilt and had only wonderful things to say about each one. Thelma Stevens chose such cute fabrics and took great care to be sure that each piece fit together in the just the right way. Finished after contest was announced Ione Reese must have spent a very long time working on her quilt. The quilt was adult sized, the fabric was so soft and the hand stitching clearly took great time and effort. Finished before contest was announced Iris Loiselle s quilt was determined the most creative. She clearly took great care to create such a fun design. Finished after contest was announced Joye Ovard s quilt is so bright and soft, the judges just loved the colors and texture as well as the unique fabric. Finished before contest was announced
