We think that the geography of Champagne is just as important as the houses themselves. The northernmost vineyards in Montagne de Reims vary enormously from those down in the Côte des Bar. As such, we have chosen to organize all our options geographically. Forgot your compass? Ask us for help! I got the chance to work with David Marcel, a French Basque winemaker who has played an integral role in protecting the ancient vines of the Maule Valley while resurrecting the traditional methods of wine-making in the Chilean countryside. This bottling is his ode to Huasco culture. Weon is a Chilean catchall term used as an insult or a term of endearment (often both at the same time), and this dry-farmed, 60-year-old vineyard of Carignan reflects the dusty sunsets from which it grows. 39

Ruben gives the workers complete control: the profits from this bottling are given 100% to the crew so they can reap the rewards of their labors. The label features a compact machete used to cut weeds in the high density vineyards, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of the dedicated vineyard team. 45

I m Spanish born and Houston raised. 2.) I ve got a soft spot for bourbon, whisky, and whiskey. 3.) Gone with the Wind is one of my favorite movies. All of this explains my choice: the aptly named Southern Belle. This seductive wine is a blend of Syrah and Monastrell from Southeastern Spanish vineyards aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels, which previously held 20-year-old bourbon. Full-bodied and sweetly spiced, this belle will sweep you away with her velvety charm! 45

A blend of White Garnacha, Macabeo & Pedro Ximenez, the grapes are fermented on their skins, aromatized with fennel, rosemary, cumin, & vanilla, then aged in a solera. With an herbaceous & citrusy flavor, this orangetinged vermouth is marvelous as an aperitif, with a cheese plate or even chocolate! 9/gl (rocks or with a splash of soda)
