BOOYAL CENTRAL STATE SCHOOL 31620 Bruce Highway, MS 71, BOOYAL Q 4671 Phone: (07) 41260177 Fax (07) 0741260181 Principal: Mrs Dawn Dolinski Email: ddoli4@eq.edu.au The WEEKLY WAFFLE Issue 18: 12 th June 2015 Attachments: (1) Booyal Hall flyer (2) News Quiz Hello everyone, A big Thank You to Mrs Ilett for holding the reins whilst I headed back to Muttaburra last week. It was lovely to be out that way again, catching up with friends and taking part in the sheep show, although heart-breaking to see just how dry the county is and how tough everyone is finding it. Following the Rain, Dear plates and in light of the Bunyip s DVD, Booyal is viewed with great affection by the graziers and Muttaburra locals. Everyone was full of praise for the children s creativity and kindness. With the arrival of two new students, Henessey (Prep) and Jamacia (Year 2) our enrolment is the highest it has been for many years. Exciting times! We now have 31 students. A warm welcome to the girls and their family. May their time at this school be memorable and positive. There was no parade this week due to the Queen s Birthday holiday on Monday. The bosses visited on Tuesday; full of praise for the students behaviour and their learning achievements. We are always so proud of them. Tuckshop will be available on Monday. What a treat: hot beef rolls, frozen yoghurt and lollies on a Monday morning. Sometimes having left-overs from the Childers Show is a bonus! Thanks P&C. We are currently planning a wonderful end of term activity. Keep an eye out for details early next week.

Did you see Daniel and the Bunyips in the last Sunday Mail? There was a wonderful story about their latest project and some snazzy photos. I will photocopy the article for all Bunyips and send a copy home on Monday. Reports: We are aiming to have reports out by the end of term, followed by parent teacher interviews early in Term 3. As always, time will tell as to whether we manage to reach this deadline but fingers crossed. If not, reports will be posted in the holidays. DVD: parents beware! If you have not been cornered to tell a joke yet you will be before the end of term. For those who have offered to help but don t have a joke your child will take a special one home for you to tell. Hooray!! Next week will be the last week of homework for the term. Today is the last reading for the pedometers. A few moments ago I received the attached flyer about a celebration night at the hall. Although, very short notice, I am sure that it will be a great night. Dear All, The term is quickly disappearing. Over the next two weeks our classroom will continue to be very busy with learning and assessments. Library Library returning and borrowing isn't going so well. Friday is Library Day. Students need to return a book and have their Library Bag to borrow. Display Table Our 'igh' contributions this week were fabulous. It was tricky but we had heaps. Many thanks to Hamish and Danita for their extra efforts. For the Preps Jessica's beautiful unicorn was great for 'u'. Next week for Preps it is 'x'... x can be in the word of the item and for the Year 1s it is 'dge'. Kind Regards, Mrs Dyer

We are lucky to have visiting specialists who work in our school on a needs basis. Here is Tiah working with occupational therapist, Fiona Adsett. Gotcha Winners Good on you, Mason & Rachel Achievement Awards Just one last week a top job, Danica
