Hors D Ouvres Because Hors D Ouvres are utilized for everything from an Appetizer Buffet to a pitch-in at the office, we provide our Hors D Ouvres by the platter rather than by the serving. For those desiring a simplified, pre-planned option, we do offer per person Hors D Ouvres Menus. First, however, we present this guide to assist you in planning your event: Social Hour Affair For a social or cocktail hour before dinner, plan to serve 3 or 4 different appetizers and allow 3 to 4 bites per person. Open House Affair For an open house affair, plan to serve 4 to 6 different appetizers and allow 4 to 6 bites per person per hour of serving. For this menu option, selections will provide approximately 10-12 bites per person (2 hours of serving). Hors D Ouvres Buffet For an Hors D Ouvres buffet that is served in place of a meal, plan to serve 6 to 8 different appetizers and allow 6 to 9 bites per person per hour of serving.
