Stop into Mr. Mathew s room after school every Wednesday from 3:20 4:45pm to receive help on your instrument, practice with a friend, make up a playing test, or check out new music! Jazz Band starts on Tuesday, August 28 from 7:15 8:05am. This club is open to any 7 th or 8 th grade band student. 7 th and 8 th grade string students may audition for placement on a rhythm section instrument. We will play at assemblies, concerts, go on extra trips and more! Yearbook Club: All those interested in participating in Yearbook Club this year must come to the first meeting on Wednesday, September 5. It will be held

before school at 7:30am in room 315. It is open to all grades. Speak to Mr. Hilborn or Mrs. Newby for details. National Junior Honor Society: If you joined NJHS last year, you must come to the mandatory meeting on Thursday, August 30 th, after school in room 315. It will likely last around 30 minutes. See Mr. Hilborn or Mrs. Miller for details. Student Council applications for 2018-2019 school year will be available in the front office starting August 20 th. Applications are due on Wednesday, August 29 th. Speeches for 6 th grade senators will be given during lunch on Wednesday, September 5 th. Basketball Open Gym: 6 th, 7 th and 8 th boys and girls are welcome to participate in open gym pick up/3 on 3 basketball games from 3:20 4:30pm on Tuesdays, September 4, 11, 18, and 25. See Mr. O Toole for any additional information. A.S.H. After School Help will be held today from 3:20 4:45pm with Ms. Dewey in the Middle School Library. B.A.S.H. We would like to have representatives from every existing student organization, all winter and spring sports, as well as any new clubs that are starting up to man a table at the Activities Fair and share about opportunities for involvement in your activity. Please let Mrs. Teeples know who will be manning your table. Have an idea for

a new club? Come see Mr. King or Mrs. Teeples to learn more about the process! Juniors and Seniors: If you would like to go off campus for lunches, you need to get an off-campus form from the security kiosk. You must get a parent signature. All off campus lunch forms need to be turned in to the security kiosk and they will give you a sticker for your student ID. ALL FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN BY SEPTEMBER 4, 2018. If you do not have your form turned in, you will not be able to leave campus. Auditions for Cheap Date Improv troupe will be Thursday, August 30 from 6:30 8:30pm in room 450. Sign up on the call board outside room 450. Auditions are open to current HS students. See Ms. Keating with any questions. Attention Juniors! Sign up for the PSAT NMSQT test which will take place on October 10. This is an optional test that is good practice for the SAT and is a national merit scholarship qualifying test. The cost for the test is $17. You may register for it on Payforit or pay Ms. Teeples in the HS administration office. Deadline to sign up is September 7.
