DAANA was born from Sanjay and Sunita s love for cooking, and the joy of giving and sharing. Dana in Sanskrit means "generosity" or "giving". It also signifies the origins of life itself a seed, the source of food that nourishes. Beginning from our humble origins at Canberra s shipping container village Westside@Acton Park in September 2015 to DAANA S home at Curtin in September 2016, this is our honest attempt to present a fulfilling experience of genuine hospitality and authentic Indian cuisine especially South Indian and other regional food, including a few popular street foods, all presented with a spirit of generosity. DAANA S guests have been our biggest strength and ambassadors. It is their incredible support that gave us the gumption to move DAANA to what we believe is its home at Curtin a place where friends and families meet in a relaxing ambience, where there are stories to be told and heard, where laughter rings in an air of casual elegance a place that soothes the senses.
