The Butler didn t do it. The Secretary Did. John Ringling enjoyed beer. His American favorite was Pabst Blue Ribbon from his home state of Wisconsin. Which actually was a nice beer before prohibition, but he was especially fond of a beer from Munich Germany. Yet, with the high cost of importing beer he made it his private stock. No one except himself, and the guests he deemed worthy were allowed to have some. One day John arrived on the JomaR and pushed the call button looking for his butler, John waited for the Butler. The Butler didn t respond. John pushed to call button again, and again the Butler didn t respond. Becoming somewhat upset, he yet again he pressed the call button, and yet again the butler didn t respond. Now very upset that his butler wasn t responding to his call, he set off to investigate. Arriving in the Kitchen he found the Butler and an empty bottle of his private stock sitting on the pantry counter. Now he was beyond upset and was outraged. Not only was his butler not responding to his calls, but he was drinking John s beer. John was very heated at what he found, but the Butler told John he wasn t the man drinking the beer. It was John s Secretary, and that for some time now, the Secretary had been partaking in John s private stock. No matter how many times the Butler had warned the Secretary he wasn t allowed to drink the beer, the Secretary continued. The Secretary had felt that those rules did not pertain to him, being that he was of such high importance; he was able to drink it whenever he d like. Bob s Train is the best kept secret in Sarasota. Hidden away off the main road we keep our little piece of circus history alive. Come aboard the train for lunch and experience what we re told is the best burgers in Sarasota. If you re looking for something more unusual try our Beef Cordon Green or maybe perhaps our Blue Cheese Chips or Artichokes. While your meal is prepared take a tour of the train. Take as much time as you d like because if you re still touring we ll come get you when your meal is ready. No need to worry about your food getting cold on our watch! The first car on the tracks is John and Mable Ringling s second railroad car the JomaR, currently being restored to its factory perfect conditions. The second, third, and forth train cars are old day coaches that Bob (Yes, that s right. There really is a Bob!) has transformed into an eccentric circus restaurant. As you walk the train from front to back keep your eyes open for there are pictures everywhere. You can find pictures of everyone from John Ringling to Marilyn Monroe on a pink elephant.
