Owned and managed by the Obradovic family, Savina vineyard and winery is located on a hillside above the Savina Monastery in the ancient Herceg Novi town. Spanning two hectares, the Savina vineyard boasts stunning views of Boka Bay entrance and the Adriatic Sea. Predominately international grape varietals such as Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache are grown here, but Savina also includes one indigenous grape - Zizak, which now as in the old days, represents a fabulous dessert wine. The vineyard was planted 20 years ago due to the family s passion for premium wine and as the continuation of the centuries-old tradition in wine growing at Savina Hill. Nowadays, 20 000 bottles are produced annually and the family have garnered many accolades including the Bronze Decanter award for Merlot in 2016. THE CASTEL SAVINA WINE TASTING INCLUDES: Rosé - Grenache Savina Rosé is obtained predominantly from the Grenache grape that originates from the sunny landscapes of southern France and Spain. Well-cooled Savina Rose is a splendid aperitif wine during the warmer months of the year and pairs perfectly with seafood, risotto, cheeses and desserts. Chardonnay Savina Chardonnay is crystal greenish in color, refreshing and complex in taste, with a scent of tropical fruits, banana and pineapple. Ending the fermentation process in French barriques has given this wine an elegant roundness with the possibility for further aging and maturing.

13 JUL PLANTAZE Wines are the children of the terroir 13. Jul Plantaze is the largest Montenegrin wine producer. This state owned company covers 2,310 hectares of land and grows 26 grape varietals, making it the largest vineyard in Europe in one complex. Twenty two million kilos of grapes produces around 17 million bottles annually, namely 150 000 hl of wine and brandy. The vast quantities of product are all stored in three wine cellars, the Stari Podrum, Ljeskopolje and Sipcanik with a combined total capacity of 330 000 hl. The company prides itself with having the second largest export of the Montenegrin economy. Since its opening in 1970, this vineyard has garnered over 1000 accolades regionally and internationally. The company grows the indigenous grape varietal Vranac, which makes up approximately 70 % of the vineyard. Among the white grape varieties, Krstac stands out in this vineyard. Grown on the Cemovsko polje vineyard, all efforts to transfer this varietal to other world areas were fruitless making Plantaze the only winery to produce this wine. Of the three wine cellars, the Sipcanik has a fascinating story. Once a former military airbase, this dramatic cellar is regularly used as the venue of choice for events, fashion shows and corporate gatherings. This wine cellar is located 30m below the ground and is shaped like a spiral tunnel, 356 m in length with a width of 13,5 m and 7m in height. The temperature is almost permanent-between 17 and 19 degrees and humidity stays between 70 and 80%.
