KRAŠ itself is the largest manufacturer of confectionery products in the South-Eastern Europe For a century, generations of consumers have enjoyed a wide range of sweet Kraš products. Right from the start of production in 1911 till nowadays, Kraš has been systematically extending its production of all three confectionery categories cocoa products, biscuits and wafers, as well as sugar confectionery. You will have the opportunity to taste some of their sweets and you could bring some with you as it is one of the most popular gourmet souvenirs from Croatia (available in the special Kraš shops, all grocery shops or Duty and Tax Free Shop at the airport). Bajadera is one of the most famous in their wide range of products. VENUE LOCATION: The Eko park Kraš is situated approx. 40 km from Zagreb- the capital of Croatia in the exceptionally beautiful Kupa river basin. The Park stretches over 422 hectares of meadows, pastures, lakes, woodlands and farm land where various arable crops are grown according to organic agriculture standards. HOW TO COME TO EKO PARK KRAŠ When coming from Zagreb, take the A1 motorway southbound for 14 km from the Lučko toll plaza and turn off at the exit signposted Donja Zdenčina. After the toll plaza turn left and then at the next junction turn right in the direction of Pisarovina. After 8 km in the Bratina village turn right at signpost for Ekopark Kraš and continue on for 2 km until you reach your destination. 2
VENUE DESCRIPTION: The apartment section of the Eko park provides accommodation for about 100 guests in wooden cottages typical of this region. Enjoy meals prepared with organic produce grown in our gardens and specialties made to recipes of our ancestors at Domacica Restaurant. TRANSPORTATION For participants coming from abroad transfers from/to Zagreb airport to Eko Park Kraš will be arranged. Those flying to Zagreb will be met by a driver after customs area and those with pre-stay in Zagreb at their respective hotels. The driver will be holding the Workshop sign. Departure transfers are scheduled 3 hours before the flight. Please check your departure time at the Registration Desk. POSTER PRESENTATION Authors should plan to display their posters either before sessions on June 19 th or during the lunchtime the latest. Posters should stay displayed until lunchtime on June 20 th. The dimensions of the poster boards are: height 250 cm, width 100 cm. For a better visibility we suggest that your poster should not exceed 150 cm height x 95 cm width. Necessary material to display the poster will be available on-site. MEALS Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included as per Workshop Programme. Coffee breaks will be served several times during the day. All meals are inclusive of drinks. FIELD TRIP Field trip is scheduled on June 20 th beginning with city tour of Zagreb and continuing to the wine region of Plesivica. Visit to Korak winery with wine tasting will highlight the tour. The owner, Mr. Velimir Korak, has been producing high quality wines for over 20 years now although the family tradition dates back centuries. USEFUL INFORMATION Currency: Kuna (1 Kuna = 100 Lipa). There are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 Lipa coins, 1, 2, 5 and 25 Kuna coins and 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 Kuna banknotes. Foreign currencies: can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, post offices and at most tourist agencies, hotels and camping grounds. Banking hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays banks are open until 1 p.m. In the larger cities some banks are also open on Sundays.
