The Silk Road or Silk Route was an ancient network of trade routes that were for centuries central to cultural interaction originally through regions of Eurasia connecting the East and West and stretching from the Korean peninsula and Japan to the Mediterranean Sea. What did they trade on the Silk Road? Besides silk, the Chinese also exported (sold) teas, salt, sugar, porcelain, and spices. Most of what was traded was expensive luxury goods. This was because it was a long trip and merchants didn't have a lot of room for goods. They imported, or bought, goods like cotton, ivory, wool, gold, and silver. How did the Ottoman Empire control trade? The Ottoman Empire arose in Western Anatolia in the mid-fourteenth century as one of several Turkish frontier principalities. Its establishment of power in both Europe and Asia gave it control of strategic entrepôts of trade, particularly after it took Constantinople (later, Istanbul) in 1453. What was the main religion of the Ottoman Empire? The Ottoman Empire now included so much of the territory where Islam was practiced, and so many of the Islamic holy places, that Suleiman was widely regarded as the religious leader of Islam, as well as the earthly ruler of most Muslims.Sep 4, 2009 A hunter-gatherer is a human living in a society in which most or all food is obtained by foraging (collecting wild plants and pursuing wild animals), in contrast to agricultural societies, which rely mainly on domesticated species.

Why do we need government? America s form of government is based on a set of ideas. These ideas establish what the purpose of government should be and what kind of government is best. Many of the Founding Father s (writers of the Constitution) ideas about government were based on the ideas of the philosopher John Locke. John Locke tried to imagine what life would be like if people lived in a state of nature, which is a situation where no governments or laws existed at all.
