RULES FOR EXHIBITORS Some Changes For 2018: Please Read 1. Exhibitors must : A) Live in Hopwas Village B) Work in a garden or allotment based within the village C) Belong to an organisation based in the village D) Be connected to a member of the village 2. No limit to entries in any class unless specified under section header 3. All exhibitors to complete and sign the entry form attached. One form per exhibitor, no joint forms accepted. Entry forms are not needed for the children's classes. No entry forms accepted after 10:00am on the day of the show. Forms with over 10 entries no later than 8:15pm on Friday 4. Staging- Saturday morning from 8:00am to 10:00am PROMPT 5. No exhibit, or part of an exhibit may be removed before the Presentation of the trophies at 3:30pm 6. The judge's decision is final. Prizes will be withheld if insufficient entries are received in any class, or exhibits are not worthy of first prize 7. Entry fee is 25p for each exhibit, excluding children's classes 8. All proceeds from the sale of produce goes to the Show funds 9. Prize money will be paid out on the day of the show at 3:30pm approximately, ONLY on presentation of prize cards 10. Exhibitors' class labels will be issued by show stewards and must be displayed, with class number visible 11. All exhibitors must provide their own equipment 12. Exhibits may be re-sited by show stewards ONLY, Exhibitors will be disqualified for interference with other entries 13. All exhibitors' personal property, is at exhibitors' own risk and the organisers will not be responsible for any loss or damage 14. All cups and trophies are perpetual and cannot be won outright 15. No exhibit awarded 1 st prize in any section in previous years can be exhibited again. 16. Any objection or protest must be made in writing before 2:30pm on the day of the show with a 1 deposit, to a member of the show committee 17. RECIPE FOR SULTANA AND LEMON FRUIT CAKE (CLASS 41) Ingredients: 300g / 12oz of Self Raising Flour TIN: 20.5cm / 8 Round, Lined 150g / 6oz of Margarine COOKING TIME: 1 to 1 ¼ hours 150g / 6oz of Caster Sugar OR until skewer comes out clean 30ml / 2 TBSP of Milk TEMPERATURE: Gas 4/ 350F/ 180C 225g / 9oz of Sultanas 3 Eggs Zest and Juice of 1 Lemon Pinch of Salt Method: Mix Flour and salt, and rub into margarine Stir in sugar and fruit Beat eggs, milk, lemon juice and zest and mix in to dry till fully combined Bake at Gas 4 (350F / 180C) for 1 to 1 ¼ hours or until a skewer comes out clean

An item of hard craft RECIPE FOR CHOCOLATE VICTORIA SPONGE ( CLASS 42) Ingredients: Self raising flour TIN: 2x 7inch sandwich tin Caster Sugar COOKING TIME: 25 minutes, Butter TEMPERATURE: Gas 3/ 325F/ 160C Margarine 3 eggs 1 Tablespoon Coco powder 1 Tablespoon Hot Chocolate Powder For the butter cream: 2oz Margarine 4oz Icing sugar ( minus 2 Tablespoons, substitute this for 1 of Coco and 1 of Hot chocolate powders) Method: Grease and line two 7 inch sandwich tins Weigh the eggs and use the same weight of marg, sugar and flour Cream sugar and marg in a bowl and sift flour, coco and hot chocolate together in a second bowl Add eggs and flour mixes to the creamed marg and sugar, alternating till full combined and smooth Place in tins and bake for 25 mins or until a skewer comes out clean, at Gas 3/ 325F/ 160C For the Butter Cream: Sift dry ingredients into marg and beat till fluffy and smooth, sandwich cooled cakes together
