From Your Board of Directors I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Hourly Employee Christmas Fund: As we have done for the past few years, we are taking up a collection for the hourly employees for Christmas. If anyone is interested in donating money can do so by getting it to Priscilla in the office. Our bartenders, cooks, maintenance guys, & cart people work hard for us throughout the year. I am sure they appreciate our gift. Hope everyone has seen our new sign at the entry of 54 & Lake Rd. 54-79. Thanks to everyone who donated money and for those members who donated their labor and time to get the sign finished. The Soup Cook-Off was a huge success. We had over 50 who attended. Betty Beal was the grand prize winner with her Broccoli Cheese Soup. Way to go Betty. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please contact one of your board members. Jim Ball, President Steve Sutton, Vice President Sharon Bevolo Meghan Clevenger Karen Kennedy Jim Krupa Dale McElwee Bucky Scribner Omer West Clubhouse Closed Christmas Day Please make arrangements ahead if you will need your clubs and/or something from the clubhouse. However, if weather permits, the gate will be opened for walking the course. The clubhouse will be closed all day. It s Time to Cash-In Your Winnings! Please remember to spend all of your event winnings before the end of the year. Contact the Pro Shop to find out if you have money to spend. You can take advantage of the many year end merchandise specials or special order something you have been wanting. Make arrangements now to avoid losing your hard earned winnings. Winter Golf Cart Traffic Golf cart traffic will remain 90 degrees unless weather dictates something else. We do ask that you use cart paths whenever possible and drive in the Green Grass areas as much as possible when not on the paths. Please continue to keep the carts on the path around all tees and greens to avoid damage to these sensitive areas. 2
Reminder With the coming of colder temperatures we have begun the daily frost watch. Since the golf course is located in a valley next to the lake we often have frost even when others around the area do not. The golf course will remain closed each day until such time as the frost thaws enough to make playing safe for the turf. If you have an early tee time, you can call ahead to check on the day s conditions. 2016 Lake Valley Tournament Schedule May 13-15 May 30 June 3-5 July 4 July 8-10 August 12-14 Cream of Broccoli Soup Betty Beal Men s Fourball Lake Valley Scholarship Scramble His and Hers Scramble Members Scramble Ladies Scramble Men s Scramble ½ Cup chopped, onion 2 T. I have lived at the lake since I was born. I was hired as a cook at Lake Valley in July 2015. I really enjoy music. I have been playing the guitar for about four years. I really like working here at Lake Valley. Cooking is something I have been interested in since I was a kid and most of my prior jobs involved working in a kitchen. I have a daughter, Elianna, who will be three in March. 5
