MML Fall Conference 2016 October 13-15, 2016 Holiday Inn & Conference Center Solomons, MD This October, MML members will have the opportunity to return to beautiful Southern Maryland as MML s fall conference will once again be held at the Solomons Holiday Inn Conference Center. Municipal officials from around the State will gather at the fall conference to attend workshops, exchange information, and renew acquaintances. It is also where the membership discusses and ultimately adopts the League s legislative agenda, as recommended by the MML Legislative Committee. Conference Workshops and Special Sessions This year, attendees will have the opportunity to attend eight workshops, including three Academy core classes, and several elective classes. The Academy core classes at this year s conference are Basics of Risk Management, Effective Meetings, and Employment Issues. Academy elective workshops will address a variety of issues, all of which are relevant regardless whether you represent a large city or a small town. After Academy elective designations have been determined by the University of Maryland, this information will be posted on MML s website. On Saturday morning, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a special expanded workshop on generating and promoting economic development in your city or town. On Thursday, time has been set aside once again for Large City and Small Town Forums to allow elected and appointed officials from Maryland s municipalities to meet and discuss issues pertinent to both large and small cities and towns. The fall conference also provides opportunities for several other groups to meet. The MML Board of Directors and the Maryland Mayors Association will both meet on Thursday, October 13.
